The 2025 Irish Champions' Festival

Here are the votes of the AC jury on today's Leopardstown Card.

Race 1 Kensington Lane
Race 2 Tribal Nation
Race 3 Montreal (I've a feeling somebody from the O'Brien family will win this one either way.)
Race 4 Al Aasy (NAP)
Race 5 Vera's Secret
Race 6 Alakazi

Race 7 Delacroix
(Note: I live 3Km from the gates of Leopardstown. Its been sunny and breezy mostly for the last 36 hours and I don't think the ground will be nearly soft enough for White Birch)

Race 8 Buddy One
Race 9 Noli Timere.

I have an EW Yankee - Tribal Nation, Vera's Secret, Buddy One, Noli Timere.

Double: Al Aasy and Delacroix.

Depending on the Al Aasy outcome, I may also bet win on Delacroix. If I do it will be on the World Pool.

I will inevitably get sucked into other impulse bets at the track. See the 'after timing' thread later for those winners.

Important ground information.

My worry is that Soumillon has yet to ride a winner for AOB since he's been brought in as a super-sub. And that includes being beaten on 5 favourites. Hoping he bucks that trend tomorrow.

Clock watch for me early doors to ascertain the actual state of the ground.

But even if it IS on the Soft side, there's still a fair few who will be effective on it, including one or two uneasy market leaders.

Very. I tried to make a case watching the videos for Scorthy Champ in the Solonaway, just couldn't do it.

Had a bit of a muggy trixie on Al Aasy (cos he drifted to 2/1 at one point) Deleacroix because he drifted also and Shadow of Light at Donny who should be evens at least.

Listening to Dave Stephens try to explain the market moves in the big races today is like listening to a labrador explain how to use a washing machine.

Wins on Diamond Necklace in what was a very nice performance as for a while I was wondering if she was going to peg the leader back.

Another winner for Soumi/AOB in Benvenuto Cellini who showed a good turn of foot. I was however pretty concerned to see him change his legs multiple times throughout the race which was a worry.

Now favourite for next year's Derby! I hope the leg changing was just signs of greenness but I for one wouldn't want him at Epsom after watching that.

Del Boy, Del Boy, Del Boy...... Was it ever in doubt? My love for this horse is unlimited!
