What a cracking mare Asfoora is - the ground wouldn't have been ideal for her there, but she still got the job done, though admittedly from an advantageous low draw.

I wondered that myself.

The time of the Lagadere suggested it's now Good to Soft on the round course - the Abbaye, of course, is run on a 5f chute, but I shall note the time nonetheless when I see it.
 
That suggests Good ground to me on the 5f chute - my guess is it's on the easy side of that on the Arc course.

We shall find out soon enough!
 
Cracking race there and such a shame Minnie didn't hold on. But a decent winner and by Sea the Stars too. In fact when you look at his breeding, I'm wondering why I didn't back him! Wonderful AK family which was only going to improve with a step up in trip. Sometimes I can be pretty stupid....😩
 
The time suggests to me the ground really isn't that bad, offering hope to backers of See The Fire and More Thunder/Sajir (though both poorly drawn) later on the card.

Arc was run 0.23s above standard. It's rarely proper 'soft' for the race.
 
Thank goodness Arrow Eagle didn’t come 4th. He was the first horse I backed ages ago and I wondered about backing him when it was first four and his price had gone right out. He ran a stormer from a bad draw. Someone must have tipped it either on here or elsewhere a long time ago (7 August).

If Maurice was around, he could be celebrating a performance that got within hailing distance of his cherished OR 130 benchmark for excellence.

Anyway, IMO this thread has been yet another TH Classic from the TH Massive - why lob out actual money for the hapless Racing Toast when you can read REAL opinions here free and gratis?
