I'm surprised to have got 8/1 about Topgear in the Jubilee race. If I were a bookie I wouldn't be offering even money. I'm tempted to put it on the odds-on thread.
 
Ascot say they put 5mm on the track after racing yesterday and there's light rain around at the moment (maybe 1mm in total?).

Stick reading expected by 8.30am.

Anyone got any theories re the disappointing runs by the Appleby runners?

One gallop too many? Substandard bunch of feed? Being laid on the exchanges?

Three years without a winner here.

I can only explain Shadow Of Light - I'd backed him ante-post at 12/1 and 8/1 last autumn and it was God's way of vomiting in my kettle to pay me back for being an atheist, or at least agnostic, all my life.

If I had gone to church, Shadow Of Light wins.

If I hadn't gone to Church, but hadn't bet the horse ante-post either, Shadow Of Light wins.

But not going to church and betting it was a lethal combo.

Fortunately, God cba to do it me that often - odds-on he just does it when he's bored. 😂
