Yes, I know there's also the Lancashire Chase, renamed by some betting exchange or other, on Saturday at Haydock Park and there's that Grade 2 at Ascot too, but WE, the Talking Horses MASSIVE, are all about big handicap winners at big prices.

Danny's already philandered away his Hung Jury winnings by squandering it on ISAs instead of taking pawras's sage advice to invest it all in boozing and whoring all the way back from the Cotswolds to the Midlands, so we need the winner of this to keep TH's favourite son afloat until The Advent.

23 entries and they've surely got to be betting on it by tonight.

There are not one but TWO very good reasons why everyone should PRAY racing takes place on Saturday.

Firstly, to avoid Maurice giving a blow-by-blow account of everything to do with Celtic's trip to St Mirren.

And secondly, to swerve me giving East Kilbride and Folkestone Invicta's fixtures (if any - haven't looked yet) similar treatment.

Agree on both counts. Didnt have much on Botox Has anyway. Still annoying 😃 and I got prices on the 2 I put up on the longshot thread.

Off topic, but I think 33/1 Tax For Max in the 1.15 is the wrong price.

I regard Dr Kildare as another case of a reserve being priced up as if it's a doubtful runner in an ante-post market - which it isn't, it's money back if nothing comes out to let it in and IMO it has to be shorter than it currently is if it does get in.
 
I regard Ace Of Spades as, very marginally, the most probable winner of an open race.

But I wouldn't put anyone off Ma Shantou, Navajo Andy, Electric Mason, Harrington or Joyeux Machin either - should be a cracker.
 
This is always a good race and second-season novices have come to the fore in recent seasons so I’m focusing on them but there’s plenty of them. To try and help me, I’ve checked the RPR bumper ratings for those who were decent in that discipline to see if there’s potential I could otherwise overlook.

I’m looking at a long list of Ace Of Spades, Phantomofthepoints, Esprit Du Potier, Electric Mason, Ma Shantou and Horace’s Pearl. Three of those are in the first five of the betting so I can’t dutch them.

Both Ace Of Spades and Ma Shantou have shown their hand to an extent but the latter went up 9lbs for being very impressive off a very confident ride at Cheltenham and I would expect it to confirm the form with Electric Mason.

Ace Of Spades only went up 3lbs for winning at Aintree, which they probably felt he had to do to be sure of making the cut here, but got more of a trier’s ride. Ma Shantou strikes me as the most likely winner.

I was hoping I’d dug up a wee nugget with Horace’s Pearl as I’d never heard of it but the bookies are alert to it so I'm letting it go.

I’ve had something on Esprit Du Potier at a nice price as it strikes me that they’ve been very patient with it and they are a very good target operation.

I love the lack of reasoning on a point of general principle - for sure, offer up a sample dish every now and then for shits and giggles, but never give the fuckers the actual recipe.
 
When I’m on my deathbed surrounded by my loved ones (ok, it won’t be a full circle, but still), I’d like to think I won’t have wasted my last breath telling them how much I love them — because I spent half my life on here educating morons with essays.
 
My lad would never pick up a book but I gave him Jonathan Livingston Seagull & he loved it, this is the equivalent

Hartington is easily the best bet on any card today.
