The 2026 Cheltenham Gold Cup

I'm confused - everyone knew who trained the horse (and what his modus operandi can be) before the race.

So what's the big surprise?

I honestly think I've stumbled into losers's corner in a betting shop on here sometimes.

TH is better than this.

Just for clarification. Are you saying Gavin Cromwell ethics as a trainer are questionable? If you are then you're the betting shop punter.

Just for clarification - it's others, not me, seemingly making that statement post race when they presumably knew who trained the horse before the race.

That's the point I am making - those who trash the trainer and jockey after a race when they knew who the trainer and jockey were before the race.

I appreciate the clarification.

With GDC running below form last March it might just have been a terrible Gold Cup. Has he got any other (grade 1) performances?

Watched the race back. If you own Grangeclare West you’ve every right asking the question.

No chance it was off today, and by accident got close.

Should have won last years National but for a hail mary mistake at the last.

66/1, wide open competitive race, if you could gurantee its running, I wouldn’t be laying it.

Cheers, DJ. That gives me hope for my a/p ew double with TJM in the King George!

Here is what happens next.

- Galopin Des Champ wins by 5L at the DRF
- Galopin Des Champ wins the CGC by 7L at 9/4.
- Jango, Haiti and Jukebox complete the first four home.
- INTWYT is pulled up before the 2nd last.

an capall will be taking all the 7/1 about the dual Gold Cup winner who is unlikely to face ground as quick next March as it was last March, did at least finish in the same county as the winner yesterday and hails from a yard (THE yard) which isn't in a rush to have their string spot on before the real target races have yet appeared over the horizon.

What a thread!
