Since the Japanese Triple Crown is around the corner, I thought, why not do a section on the Racing season in Japan as a Whole.

We already had the G1 February Stakes a few weeks ago (Costa Nova getting his 2nd February Stakes win in a row), We are now coming towards the G2 Yayoi Sho (AKA Deep Impact Kinen), a massive trial race leading up to the G1 Satsuki Sho, we then also have the G1 TAKAMATSUNOMIYA KINEN in Chukyo Racecourse at the end of the month and then April kicks off the 1st Leg of the Triple Crown (including the G1 Oka Sho, the Fillies 1st leg)

I will try and keep this up to date as the early wake up times is always a pain to deal with.

Its Keiba (競馬) day on this Friday night/Saturday morning, as today's Racing in Japan is headlined by the G3 NAKAYAMAHIMBA STAKES at Nakayama Racecourse and the G2 Fillies' Revue at Hanshin Racecourse

the Fillies' Revue is a trial race for the G1 Oka Sho in April at Hanshin Racecourse (Unlike the UK 1000 and 2000 Guineas, the Oka and Satsuki Sho are on different racecourses) and there are plenty of 3 year old Fillies trying to make their mark in equine history, and the Nakayamahimba Stakes is a 4 Year Old+ Race so they are all prepping for the G2s and G1s outside of the Triple Crown Series.

There have been a few famous Horses to have won the Fillies' Revue:
2007- Aston Machan (Her story is tragic look it up, Rest In Peace)
2005 - Rhein Kraft (Died at 4 Years old due to Heart Failure, Rest In Peace)
1986 - Mejiro Ramoru (One of many in the famed Mejiro Clan to have G1 wins, Won the 1986 Triple Tiara (Oka Sho, Yunshin Himba (Japanese Oaks) and the Queen Elizabeth II Cup*))

*Before the Shuka Sho replaces the QEII Cup as the 3rd Leg of the Fillies Triple Crown

The Winner was Strada, Front ran the whole race and had the stamina to prevail, she's the grandchild of Symboli Kris S and King Kamehameha

Winner is Toyosakae, Grandson to Deep Impact (Legendary Horse, undefeated until the 2005 Arima Kinen and was Disqualified for the 2006 Prix de L'Arc De Triomphe due to doping)

Next Up is a Race over Hurdles, Nakayama's Hurdle layout is akin to Cheltenham's Cross Country Layout (Alternatively a Wider version of Windsor Racecourse) where its a weird figure 8, also Japan is probably the only country to use Starting Gates for Hurdle races

The Distance is 3,200m (~2m)
