The Betfred Summer Plate

Course winner Paddy the Hare would have decent chance. He hammered Nicky Henderson's Owen Glendower on this course last time.

Buck Mulligan is very often worth backing to lay as he tends to show up going well late on. He will win one of these one day but if he comes there cruising 3 out the best bet is to save your stake as he doesn't always find a lot.

Nothing would have beaten him but unfortunately we had to get three runs into him and as last weeks was on a Sunday we miss by one day. Dineur will be close Sat and looks as if Kians goes to Galway.

Our Racing Club were offering shares in Paddy the Hare and I was going to buy one for the S.O. as an Christmas present but he declined [saying that we'd both get really upset if he ever got injured]. How I wish I'd overruled him. For that reason it will be bittersweet if he wins at the weekend.

It was Kians Delight but because we ran last Sunday we are a day out so not qualified. We are going to try the Galway Plate instead

Cheers Roddy I haven't been around much but took time out to watch the replay. No need to tell you that was one impressive display of jumping at Perth. All the best for the Galway Plate.
