A thread here now for horses who can't seem to get their head in front and need gelding.

I'll start off - Novelista... The most talented maiden in training.

Do the honourable thing now Charlie Johnston and whoever the syndicate are.

Translation: A thread here now for horses that have cost me money, hence morally deserve castration.

Perfectly reasonable!

I shall read with interest!

As for forumites, Walsworth's trainers in form thead might have improved if the author had parted company with his knackers - it might have included Geoff Oldroyd at the point at which Geoff was actually churning out the winners for a start!

Novelista broke his maiden tag today.

He could win a Ceserewitch next season if connections take the plunge. 🤣

Edit, he's entered in it this year. Crikey. 🤣

Minerva worthy of a slot here...not the most genuine. She's cost a good chunk so they'll be doing their best to get a winning bracket.

He picked up a 4 pound penalty for the Cesarewitch by winning today, but, on my reckoning, that only promotes him three places from 62nd to 59th in the list of weights. The Cesarewitch Trial three weeks ahead of the main race offers good prize money and there are usually only around ten or twelve runners in it. Is Lope De Vega a significant influence for soft or heavy ground as it won't be testing at Newmarket in late September?

It bleeding well could be testing ground.

Lope De Vega is indeed an influence for soft or heavy ground in the progeny I believe.

While I like Novelista as a horse, and I think he's gutsy, it would be a big ask against the older horses. I'd probably sit it out and see how he does, knowing in my heart of hearts I think he's looks a type to improve with a gelding operation. He was idling in front today and hanging right. He's not totally enjoying it, even allowing for the fact his talent won him the race today.

Duly impressed; took 33's for the Ces,as he's not jocked up for his Haydock entry.

I can confirm connections have taken my advice, and Novelista has been gelded.

Watch the space next season!
