Rory hope you win mate. Poor performance from me. Could do better
I was very sweet on the Cantillon beast with headgear on - didn't do a tap last time but is clearly talented. The fact that I thought you'd have an eye on Handmaid anyway made it feel like a poker hand. You've served this board better than me in terms of winners.

With regard to Thommo's book, an excerpt from David Carr's blog on the RP site:

"And there is one gentleman from the north east of England who never leaves anyone in any doubt as to his whereabouts.
Yes, a family day without Derek Thompson is pretty much outlawed by Act of Parliament and he was an unmissable, unavoidable presence on closed circuit television and the public address throughout the day.
He has a new twist to his usual act with an autobiography to plug and you have to admire the chutzpah of a man who can stand on stage, hold up a book with his picture on the front and then say, in apparent surprised innocence: "There is a quote here from Frankie Dettori, who says 'racing without Tommo is like pasta without sauce'" - as though he had never seen those words before and 'Tommo' was somebody else.
Only shock was when he judged the face painting competition and managed to restrain himself from presenting the winner, four-year-old Keira from Huddersfield, with a copy."
