As we all know Flemenstar will now miss the Festival but is back on course for Aintree which is good news.

Prior to his setback we had the trainer saying QMCC the owner Gold Cup and the Ryanair wasn't even a consideration despite the fact everyone but them seemed to think the race and the rip were ideal.

No doubt we'll be reading the same rubbish next season but I have a question.

Is there any reason the horse can't be trained for the Nakayama Grand Jump in Japan.

We send horses like Snow fairy there so why not a jumper. The last time I saw prize money being mentioned it worth upwards of $1.5 million wheich is more than some of our best horses would win in a lifetime.

The fences are a joke nothing ever seems to fall the trip is 2m5f and the ground looks like there's a few divots flying around.

Unless there is some reason why our horses can't run there surely it's only a matter of time before someone goes there like Flemenstar or even Oscar Whisky

Any you guys know any reason why not?

If he is poor traveler to england, japan is not an easy trip

The ground will be too firm

Bad idea

He's never been outside Ireland Suny where do you get the idea he's bad traveler from?

How do you know the ground would be too firm where do you think Japan is in Africa?
Do you even know when the race is run? I doubt it

Japan has plenty rain in April and only Sept to October has higher rainfall and it wasn't that long ago they had massive floods there.

It's well documented he's a bad traveller. Casey has done a lot of work in this regard to get him to the races somewhat settled.

Mullins is sending Call the Police to some big jumps race in Japan. This one ?

Not sure if Flem has ever raced outside of Dublin/ Meath or Kildare?

Japan might be asking a bit too much of the poor fella

Suny doesn't really deserve that Tanlic imo

Tanlic is the George Galloway of TH; forever muscling for exposure, often talking utter shite (and looking like a prize-breast in the process).....but he is also a vagabond who commands utmost respect for his sheer indefatigability and joie de vivre.

I am an advocate of tolerance of fuds, and therefore beseech one and all to please account for Tanlic's foibles and overall devil-may-care attitude. :D

An apology in Suny's direction would also demonstrate some contrition on our hero's part.

I am the weaver...

Fanny sounds better than Fuds imo.:)

George Galloway sounds cool to me, beats some of the Mark Oaten characters that lurk in these places.:)

EC1, its just tongue and cheek stuff man, including from me, and I think SunyBay too., I doubt he is heartbroken and he replied with the following.

I'm just bored and no one should worry about what I think, and besides the toilet needs a clean now.

Didn't really mean for that to come across quite so badly. I had barely posted and had looked at the race and as they had been running in mud up to their knees at the course last March I found your reference to the going surprising. As far as Flemenstar being bad traveler is concerned the trainers a muppet IMO he wasn't going to send him to Cheltenham then the next day he was. I've never seen the horse do anything bar be perfectly calm at the start. Now he's sending him to Aintree.....probably wants another month so he can walk him there:rolleyes:

What I find strange is WM talking about sending Blackstairmountain for the race who I would have though liked a bit of cut in ground but he says the ground will suit him. I have no idea what they mean by firm ground in Japan or how many descriptions of going they use but they definitely get a fair bit of rain in April.

Anyway don't take my jibes seriously like everyone I fook up every so often...not as much as Grassy or Slim but often enough;)

btw I am off to the pub soon so if I call you a dick when I get home drunk I apologies in advance:D

The dilemma here isn't the Japan race for me. It's what do you do when you have a very good horse with a two bob trainer? Danoli scenario etc.

Can be argued that you shouldn't be with that trainer in first place but then again not everyone will have the pockets deep enough for a Mullins or Nichols

Personally I think the owners simply have to be ruthless and tell whoever it is to **** off out of it. Look at the way tidal bay was wasted with that tosser up north before finding rightful place with the best in the business
