The Ladbroke

It's a real pin sticker. It's a Gimme is sure to see out the trip in the ground so backing him place only might be the best way to go.

Petite Robin's winning run may come to an end but he travels really well and the ground shouldn't bother him. Every chance he'll go well enough long enough to look like he has a chance of winning and 42 on the machine he looks a decent back to lay.

Yeah, I am backing the front two from Sandown, in the knowledge they are both on form and should handle the ground.

The Racing Post are shrewder than I thought and have tipped Nigels horse just now in their summary.

To be frank, I've got the same feel about Double Ross as I did about Briareus in the Tote Trophy a few years ago when that horse was a certainty at 20/1.The problem for me was, the meeting got called off then, so not again please....and **** off rain to boot.:)

I reckon Rigidity is a great each way bet. Was only beaten 1/2l in this race last year when going was soft and is more or less on the same mark with Dickie Johnson on this year as opposed to a claimer. Been running in beginners' chases since the Festival. Never been out of the first three running right handed in NH races other than an UR at Punchestown.

Available at 28-1 with Boylesports as I write.

Briareus was never shorter than 33/1 in the betting fir the Tote Gold Trophy that year. I know this for a fact.

Two small e/ways on two outsiders for me.

Rigidity - 2nd last year - has this been the plan for a year? - off same mark with top jock on.

First Avenue - Just looks possibly very well h'capped on some of his for?

25/1 & 50/1 2 1/2pts e/way each.

Yes I'm still greatful for the insight you had on the old neigh forum, you did put me onto that one didn't you. Do yourself a favour pal and accept the compliment I am returning you via Double Ross.:ninja:

It'll probably bid to make all, I'm sure something will get near it jumping the last hurdle, it may even be this Henderson yoke with 10:1, but he'll pull out the stops. Why do they even need to run the race, they should just pay me out, I've got it totally stitched up in me head anyway:)

No.

It was me that thought he was stuck-on for the TGT off 136, but I recovered my stake and a little more besides, when he hacked-up in the Kingwell at 14/1. He also made the difference between winning, and not winning, the TTF Monthly Prize in Feb '06. I did back him the year Brave Inca won the CH, but at no stage did I promote him as "a Champion Hurdle" horse - it was a bet to nothing after refusing to take a short price about Inca against HE and Macs Joy.

I trust this answers your question.

PS. I'd respect you a lot more if you removed the unneccessary 'snide' from some of your posts.

Unnecessary snide?!

I trust you've been smoking and have taken leave of your senses - there was no tone whatsoever, but me remembering that someone on TRF thought he was a CH horse, and your post made me think it was you.

You have gotton completely the wrong end of the stick.

Thanks for your PM, Hamm. Happy to extend you a public apology here, and bid you good tidings for the season.

Nice one, Marble. :)

I think Its a Gimme is nailed on to get placed.I would trade with the win part of the bet -some of it at very short odds.Would also be looking for an ambitious tricast with Petit Robin and something tbcf.

5/2 aint so bad either Luke. I've already had my shillings on.

As for the winner I'm going for Cash and Go. Barry Geharty was riding him for only the second time in the Racing Post and rode a different race than he did when he won on him at Wexford. At Wexford he was more prominent earlier and took it up approaching the second last and won easily.

At Cheltenham Barry held him up and never made as much use of him but when the leaders quickened at the top of the hill he was caught a bit flat footed.

I'd expect he wont be caught out like that again and expect him to be taking them on that bit earlier and win this.

Handicapper was far from kind after Cheltenham but he might a better horse than his bare form suggests

Taken some 33's about Thomas Edison - very big price about a horse who will handle conditions and has been running well in handicaps off a similar mark of late. Yard are in decent nick with 3 winners (two favs mind) in the past fortnight and he has has usual jockey up, he clearly stays the trip well and won a hot bumper at this time last year defeating Champagne Fever amongst others and the price looks huge to me.

Lost a post somehow. In short I agree, IS, have been watching and waiting. A fair speculative punt.

Anyone know if Barry Geraghty can do 10-6?

Reason I ask is that I keep looking at Lyvius, and my confidence in his chances keeps increasing. The only time he's disappointed over hurdles was at Aintree, but I reckon he can be forgiven that outing, as it was his fourth start in 30 days. And it might say something that the yard were happy to pitch-him into G1 company a month after his first run for them.

I really fancy his chances strongly, and I'm left scratching my head as to why Barry Geraghty would select Cash & Go instead......unless he was marginal on making the weight? Or possibly the yard wanted to maximise Lyvius' chances by claiming from him anyway?

Or possibly Cash & Go is a steering-job. :D

Regardless, I've gone in again on Lyvius.

a narrow choice given he thinks cash and go has the better from in the book according to his interview on atr as opposed to weight problem

my three for this race is down to
cash and go
lyvius
thomas edison

not sure how either of them will cope in the ground as thomas edison is the largest price i think i will stick with a small wager on him he has some interesting pieces of form
