Looking at the race I reckon there'll be a fair few future winners. There are several that look well handicapped. Sternrubin and Bidourey for me, and I fear the two Mullins horses most.

Renetti is the one I'm watching for the Coral Cup and a step up in trip will suit so today might not be his day.

its just another race in reality Slim though..no reason why you would get more involved tbh..the same pressures and pace affect horses..tire them etc

From an entertainment point of view it was good and punters could have had it worse with a 25/1 outsider winning. :)

Well done to Sternrubin backers.

I'm keen on Sternrubin in this race. His back-end races last season put him roughly 10lb behind Lil Rockerfellar, which if they'd both progressed at a similar rate would make him a c. 140 horse with the form the latter has since shown, yet he gets in here off 134. That's probably an over simplistic approach but there's an argument that Sternrubin may have progressed the more of the two with 2/2 wins since, both coming in nice fashion. LTO beating the previously unbeaten hurdler John Constanble with the useful novice Ch'Tibello back in 3rd.

I'm not a fan of front running tactics in races of this nature but Dickie - who's riding out of his skin - is no Tom Scudamore and judges these things well, as evidenced last week on Village Vic.

12/1 is a decent price for an improving 4 year old with a low weight.
Quality. :)

I thought it was a fantastic race and well done to those who got either of the principals.

I have to say I was counting my money turning for home with my main bet on Some Plan but he doesn't seem to find much off the bridle. Unless Nicholls is just weighing them all up for something like the Schweppes.

I was happy with that although even on then frame I thought Sternrubin had it by a fraction.

I'm convinced Renetti is the right one for the Coral. I'll wait to see what the handicapper does, but 2 or 3 pounds and run in fourth or fifth in the big handicap at Leopardstown next year will do nicely.
