The Official Constitution Hill Thread 2025/26

If Constitution Hill takes a fatal fall in the 2026 Champion Hurdle, having fallen in three of his last four Jumps outings, including the previous renewal, any notion that "the sake of racing" has been served will fly out the window at terrifying speed.

I'd make it the biggest PR disaster for racing vis-à-vis the wider world in my adult lifetime and something that could tangibly shorten the lifespan of Jumps racing in the UK.

Surely he's only entered in case anything happens to Sir Gino. It makes no sense to me. A run around Southwell as a prep for the CH . What's wrong with the Kingwell ?
He lines up in March. He would have jumped one flight of hurdles at race speed in eleven months. Asking for trouble. Can't believe they're heading to Cheltenham on the back of that.

It would be like dropping a nuclear bomb on the sport

Retire a great champion, who owes nothing to any punter.

The greatest Supreme winner ever. A very good CH winner.

Just leave it there.
1st post here is going to be controversial, his supreme win they sacrificed Jonbon to make a mess of the main danger Dysart Dynamo who was a fruit loop. Betting stank at the off on Jonbon. Race completely fell apart with those two sacrifices. I’d have it as a great clock performance without actually having to beat a real horse in the day

Correct.

I don’t agree.

I’ve just watched a re-run. CH is always within three lengths of the other two, and the three of them were almost in line, when DD fell. The race fell apart to the extent that CH won by as many lengths as he was capable. Whatever way that race is run, CH is still winning it by a minimum 10 lengths.

Nico had chosen CH over Jonbon - that was always going to be reflected in the betting.

I’d have no problem with your view it is a perfectly reasonable way to interpret the race. Nico didn’t choose though Jonbon was Coleman’s ride at the time

Nico was always ending up on CH. He didn't have the choice. When Aidan Coleman was riding, he had the ride on Jonbon.
