The eagle lands very shortly I imagine hopefully they settle up on his withdrawal and don't make you wait until his official retirement as a 12yo winner Claimers on the sand.

Edit : Didnt expect it to be that shortly that I couldnt finish my post.

Pleased with that though. Right decision.

You've thought the horse a prospect since the Greatwood - fair play.

Forum interrogator: "Question, Ian - since when have you cared about racing's image? Isn't this about landing your grubby bet on the horse never to win the race again?"

Me: "I plead 'the Fifth!'- and I don't mean the Fighting Fifth!"
Mind you. I took 9s Vale of tears in the opener at Bangor last night. 50s now 🥴🥴🤣

Suprised at that tbh, if X is to be believed he absolutely clouted one today schooling and made the decision for them.

With the race changes, Tuesday is absolutely terrible.
Old Park Star and Kopek, rest are your run of the mill Saturday races now. Terrible.

Given that the horse's whole future effectively hung on this schooling session, there is not a single mention of what happened there. I hope, but doubt, that some reporter will grasp the nettle and grill NJH about this. Lydia the most likely if she is back from holiday.

yeah that does suck, but to be honest I’d rather him be alive and a demon flat runner than hurt or worse

It's probably the right decision for the horse but I can't help feel a bit of sadness that we are likely to not see one of the best hurdlers of recent times, over hurdles again.
Whatever Nicky decided I'm more than happy to accept and go along with.

I wonder if Ian Davies will now finally get paid out on the 12/1 never to win another Champion Hurdle!

I bet he's kept that betting slip securely under the pillow for a while.

So glad when I heard earlier that he won't be running, or asked to jump hurdles ever again. It just wouldn't of looked good for racing if he had ran and fallen if something bad happened

The Melbourne Cup is actually not the worst idea.
Its a terrible idea for the following reasons:
1. The ground would not suit
2. He would not be competitive
3. He would not even be able to run in the race as he'd fail the vet.

Henderson dismissed it on Luck on Sunday

So is Lossie still destined for the mares?
Wodhooh must be a certainty if Lossiemouth is rerouted to the big one.

I've got 4/1 Wodhooh in the ante post comp, could be the easiest winner I've ever backed on that, IF Lossie goes elsewhere.

Even if she doesn't Wodhooh is still in with a massive chance.
