Not sure what the weather is like where you are but we are on our 6th straight day of blue sky & sunshine :) its been warm enough to sit outside & drink my morning coffee, very spring like :)

Here's hoping it stays nice for my job interview. I've gone for a linen suit and could look a right plonker if it rains...

Yeah, at a private school 5 miles away instead of 25 miles away. My major concern is the pay scale as I know nothing about it but we'll see.

Shut it, Dessie!!! :suspect:

Easier life with the baby due in 3 months. Less travelling and less time working at home are important to me now.

Erm... I wouldn't bank on that 'less time working at home' bit too much, Pee! Her Majesty is likely to more than make up for what isn't related to skool.

Goodest of luck with the new possibility, that sounds as if it would be just the ticket. Take a discreet folding umbrella, just in case. You can always leave it in reception, unless it'll fit into your smart briefcase, and they'll be tremendously impressed - "excellent preparation standards" - if there's a squall just as you're leaving. Fingers crossed for you.

Should of kept my mouth shut :(

Forecasters Warning

-- Wintry Conditions --

Areas Affected: The UK

This is the first in a likely series of Weather Watches and Warnings covering the threat of wintry conditions to many parts of the country.

There has been growing confidence that after a period of very spring-like weather over the last week, wintry conditions will return in full force over the coming weekend. The abrupt change is set to take place during the course of Saturday night and into Sunday, initially across more Northern parts of the country but eventually nationwide by the end of Sunday.

Specific details still remain uncertain at this stage but there is cause for concern over the threat of snow, potential blizzards across Scotland for a limited time and harsh frosts returning nationwide by night. There is the potential for some transport disruption in places. Frequent and often heavy sleet and snow showers are expected across a large portion of the country between Sunday 18th and Tuesday 20th of March. At the present time Scotland, Eastern England, Northern Ireland and Wales are at greatest risk.

Further updates will follow over the coming days...

Hope it's good news Pee but don't expect a private school teaching post to be a walk in the park timewise!
A friend of mine works in a private school and they get even more holidays than state schools so it can't be bad!

Fingers crossed Paul.

No weekends here but I have turned them down. The pay is around 6 grand less than I am currently on so it is a no brainer.

How does that work then ? Wouldn't those who can afford to send their kids private would want the cream of the teachers, which in turn would mean having to pay the best money? shrug::

I wonder if it works t'other way round, cricketfan - so many teachers would like to be in private schools, they'll take a dip in pay to work in them? Pee - is that possible?

Well, don't just sit there whinging - do something about it! You're a young, vibrant, dazzling urbanite, aren't you? So act like one! (I would remind you that the energies of the forum have been somewhat diluted by some poxy NH meeting run somewhere in the south-west, though.)
