The Will Win Thread

I think this might be the quickest ground she's raced on so far.

If that's no issue and they've got her fit (which I'm sure they have) she's sure to go well.
 
I'm not sure it's a case of what his judgment is. I'm more inclined to think he's very reluctant to tell the truth before a race.
 
For me it should raise questions within the racing media, especially the TV people. They should have people analysing what interviewees are saying over the course of a season or more and the extent to which what they're saying proves to be true.

I'd say 90% of what Nicholls says before a race proves to be untrue. Hendo wouldn't be far behind.

Indulge me (again) briefly....so I'm in a private box at the King George meeting at Kempton a few years ago and a lady who worked for the yard is in there....the yard are running two in the next race...."I quite fancy Cyrname, but Paul thinks the other one will win so I've backed that instead," she said.

"Maybe you're a better judge than him," I said to her after Cyrname won - she looked at me in horrified shock as if I'd just uttered the ultimate heresy.

Funny old game - I had to smile, anyway.

This is the mathematical formula for how many times The Fat Man has picked the wrong one in a two-runner race: (1 + 1) × (100³).
 
She was the best horse in the race but that mistake two out made the difference - that and the near two stone she was giving the winner.

That's the world we live in -what trainers say per race is well rehearsed PR.It can be different after an emotional victory when the adrenaline is flowing.

This is something I've said on here several times down the years, usually in response to people whingeing about immediate post-race interviews.

I reckon this is where winning jockeys, trainers and owners let their guard slip and actually tell the truth (and give lie to stuff said in the media in the build-up).
