Thank you all very much for your informative replies.

I can see the argument about evolution in horses versus the evolution of man but surely horses have only been bred to run faster the last 200 odd years. And as we have seen, the shape of horses has even changed over the last 40 years. The most persuasive argument for me is that put Arkle in Nicholls' yard now with Ruby on board and he would be an even better horse.

Things are so much better nowadays.

My generation is so much cleverer than Colin Phillips' and Desert Orchid's and other old people like an capall.

They didn't even have the internet. All they could invent was black and white TV and paedophile priests and LP's.
