time of Leopardstown next Saturday

I presume you're referring to the late starting time?

It has worked at the Punchestown festival and I think it should work well for this meeting too.

The meeting has traditionally been on a Saturday to avoid a clash with the All Ireland hurling final. However Saturdays are very busy for a lot of people, it's the main chance of the week for working people to get to the shops and do other tasks, and a mid-afternoon start allows more time to get them out of the way before going racing. The other good thing about it, compared with an evening meeting, is that afterwards it is still early enough for people to do whatever they normally do on a Saturday night.

I had been planning an informal luncheon with friends, and rang Leopardstown to ask if they'd start a little later than usual to facilitate us getting to the track. They were only to happy to oblige. Unfortunately neither of them want to go.

You have two friends?? How the f*ck is that possible?

Cantoris has a game of cricket to play on Saturday morning - couldn't possibly have the Pimm's quoffed before 3pm.

Well at 3pm on Saturday I was drinking Pimms about half a mile from the racecourse in Cheltenham!!

On the later start. I think it could work. You never got a crowd coming up for the racing and the game the next day. Too early a start. Some might do it now and head into town after the last around 7pm. That could work. Means they don't have to leave home till 1pm, rather than 11am. Anything is worth a go.

Any sensible soul will be getting a taxi straight from Leggs to Dundalk for the Sunday card.

Then back to The Big Tree for the Kilkenny celebrations - on to Coppers and back to Legs to collect the lost mobile phone and to check if the wan you were with the previous night was indeed a Ladyboy!
