Today's The Day...

Did anyone ever find if there was a second sniper that day at Newbury? Surely a one man operation could never have brought about the great one's downfall...

It's also the 8th anniversary of the death of Michael Hutchence, the sexiest man to have ever lived

...when all of us who were alive in 1963 remember what we were doing
Curiously enough, that was the first thing that entered my head this morning when I realised today's date.

I remember my mother crying and I remember trying to decipher the pictures on our old b&w telly. Then I remember going out to the ice-cream van for a cone :o
(Well, I was only eight, after all.)

No wonder the ice cream sellers up there shoot each other to obtain the business...
And they do, too. It's big business particularly in the council schemes. There wasn't much exaggeration in Comfort And Joy.

Our 'icy' came round twice in the evening and three times per day at the weekend, all year round.

Once the big coal fire was roaring there was always something comforting about enjoying a cone in front of it while watching telly, although the mood was pretty sombre that night.

I wasn't around in 1963, but I am sure this has to do with Kennedy's assassination?
Yes, in Deeley Plaza, Dallas

Everyone is supposed to be able to remember where they were and what they were doing when they heard the news

If that was the case why did he go for an old slag like Paula Yates?

She was a very funny and intelligent woman. Sadly she lost her way after the love of her life died, but wouldn't you?

I was 4 or 5 at the time. I remember I was translating Homer at the time (into Old English) and my governess mentioned something about it.

At the age of 5 months, I don't quite remember it, but apparently, I was being wheeled in my pram to nan's house. :D

Griffin, would you have had a problem with M H's feet??
