Years ago I noticed that Fergal O’Brien was winning everything, especially when Timmy Murphy was riding them. One Saturday I wanted to do an ew accumulator on them but didn’t know how to do it. All but one of them won or placed, the last being a 40/1 winner. It still pains me thinking about it. I’ve never dared work out how much I might have won even with my small stakes.

Monday’s blood test indicated that my kidneys were struggling, so I spent most of yesterday in local ambulatory care having IV fluids.
I’m feeling a bit more chipper now and will post a couple of dead certs later.

Doctor Kildare is also a reserve in the Stayers' Hurdle at Haydock.
