Tricky Question

Buy her a bottle of vokda for her birthday.

As a consequence, she will in bed sleeping off a hangover for all of Valentine's Day, then, on the 15th, you can nag at her for failing to attend the expensive Valentine's meal that you had booked and planned months ago (yeah right).

This means you only have to buy one present and you have the upper hand in any furture arguments about your own drunken behavior. Genius eh?

I always thought that Valentine's cards were supposed to be anonymous?
Yes, all the ones I send to myself are anonymous.

(Otherwise I'd never get any.)

Anyway - valentines day isnt for you smug, loved up couplets - its for us singles, so we can send anonymous love notes to our desired persons - and they still dont know who we are and ask out the thin one from the pub instead.....

I've got 4 lads on the go at the moment - none of them serious, hence I am still a singleton - how expensive is it going to be for me this year???!!!!!!!

PDJ - I'm with all the people on here who say a....

but thats speaking as an 18th Feb girlie - who had years when at school of getting her V cards on her birthday cos theyd arrive on the 14th and her parents would assume they were birthday cards...... <_<

Four on the go??? You tart!!!! No - you go girl, I'm only jealous!!!!

Hey Troods - any chance of you being at Newbury on the 11th?

Anyway, this year I'm being taken out for a slap-up meal at a good Chinese.....

.....by my grandparents, with my mother, aunt & uncle & the bloke in attendance!!!!

AHEM - I'm being good I'll have you know - at one point it was 5 - I've cut down!!!! B)
Newbury on the 11th - thats the Sat isnt it?? I'm getting confused - I should be off then ( got the next two weekends off - YAY!!!) so its a definate possible - didnt we run Get the Point there last year?? We havent got him any more ( :( - hope hes doing OK in his new home - roll on the Foxhunters....... ) so I doubt we'll have a runner, so I should be OK to be off, ad I could go home from there - how much is it to get in?? :D :D :D

Just make sure it is a SLAP UP MEAL, not just a slap..... ;)

Yeah - that's the one, Sat 11th, TGT. Of course, met up for a nano second last year!!!! :shy:

Be great to see you - it's pricy enough to get in I think but speak nicely to Dr Philip & borrow yer stable pass lass - that's what I always did!!!!!

I keep that all the time anyway - I just cant be bothered trying to con the various gate people that we've got a runner - they always ask me if I try to sneak in!!! Will try to make it - will text you Sat am.....

It doesn't matter.

Shadow will somehow know what present you got around 8.21am on the morning of the 12th. Betfair will suspend betting thereafter

Trudi - there's a trick to getting in at Newbury. Go in through the horse entrance to the pre-parade ring, there are a couple of really friendlt old guys who have been working that gate for aons. Flash your pass at them (they never inspect it!) say hello & be really friendly & if they ask if you have a horse with you, airily tell them that you're saddling one in the second (or first, or third, or nervous chase, or whatever!) and they'll smile at you & wave you on! :D

I know shad - its not them I have the problem with - its the jumped up berks inbetween teh various enclosures and getting into the grandstand!! ( could have just been cos the Queen was there the only time i tried to get about "illegally" though.....) Anyway - however I do it, ill try to come!

( Can I get you some bin-fresh for your birthday??? ;) )

Ah, don't worry about the berks on the enclosure gates, Troods - the art to getting wherever you want to on a racecourse without being stopped is to look like you belong there! Many a time I've gone where I've wanted - just hold your head up high & stride through confidently!!!

Actually, you're right - security was very tight in July for the King George - MI5 nearly arrested Jinnyj for trying to visit the ladies' loos by the Royal Box[they'd shut them for the day as Her Maj was in situ]!!!

It has to be (a) or there would be trouble, I feel.

Not that I believe in Valentines Day since I got ditched the night before by the same bloke who later ditched me the week before my birthday/professional work examinations some months later after I had taken him back...

I had a fun night sitting on the floor crying snottily while I drank the entire bottle of expensive champers I had bought for him!

tried to book a restaurant for my beloved and was told that ther are two sittings..One at 7 and you have to be out at 9 and one at 9.30 to closing.
I booked the 15th for 8.30 and no problem.

If her birthday was in July..................
My birthday is near Christmas and for years would get one BIG (yeah right) present for whichever day I wanted - suppose I at least got to choose(not from my immediate family but everyone else). My birthday cards hardly ever arrive on the day because of the Christmas post, and it can be forgotten entirely by some because of the Christmas panic - it drives me crazy! I haven't got that many left and wish it was not in December. Luckily my best friend and I have exactly the same birthday - she is two hours older than me - so if no one else makes a fuss, we do it ourselves! :D

Valentines' Day is commercial nonsense.....and not fair on those who have no one special to tell them they love them. And if they did, shouldn't have to have 'a day' to do it either.
