Yesterday was all about Chasseral and it’s good to have a horse that gives good reason to be noted and why.
Not much to enthuse about with Tuesday’s tepid action. I had been waiting until 11am to see if it was going to warm up and Chatterbox was going to make the cut as second reserve. Alas, as he was declared a Nr. My curiosity had been piqued by his declaration a mere six days since his last run (canter). Fascinating.
I’ll do a couple today but they’re only light- penciled, really. I’ll do Artic Breeze (7.28) Hexham. Strictly on the book, he has it all to do with Coolmayne on a line though Benny Baloo but BB was given a less than inspired ride by Mr Easterby (who I wish well after his recent nasty fall) and whereas Coolmayne ris shamelessly exposed, AB looks to have scope for better things to come in staying chases.
I’ll also have a speculative sniff at Supersuperjack (4.10 Nottingham). It’s not a great race, this one. Although Tenerife Sunshine, in the first time pieces, will be a popular choice, SS has shown ability in higher class than this and has won in the past following a long break.
