Is it deemed ok to use expletives on the forum iF you mix a couple of letters up? For example: ###### OFF!

Or, use a symbol or number to replace a certain letter: YOU C%NT!

The reason I am asking is ovverbruv was clearly offended by Euronymous' use of bad language on the Council Tax thread,

I, for one, do not care about the use of such bad language and other regular posters such as Krizon, an capall and BrianH use expletives as described above (well, maybe not so much krizon who is content to type as she finds) without fear of punishment.

Any thoughts?

I don't find the odd expletive here and there offensive. If they were in every other sentence I'd be a bit miffed.

Yeah, i think it depends on the expletive. I used the C word plural earlier on and i really was surprised it wasn`t filtered like **** is.

As for the F word, anyone who has a problem with it on the internet has serious anal retention issues imo.

I don`t think people do. Check the rugby thread, that`s where the motivation for ovverbruv`s comment came from, he`s upset i didn`t bite on his moron comment.

I use expletives but I try not to do so gratuitously. Occasionally it may seem gratuitous but there will always have been a motive for it in my mind.

I often suspect a minority of contributors use them because they lack alternative, non-expletive vocabulary. That's when I feel like a right smug b@stard.

There are only 10 times in history where the "F"
word has been
considered acceptable for use.

They are as follows:

10. "What the @#$% do you mean,ice?"
-- Capt. E.J. Smith of RMS Titanic, 1912

9. "What the @#$% was that?"
-- Mayor Of Hiroshima , 1945
8. "Any @#$%ing idiot could understand that."
-- Einstein, 1938
7. "It does so @#$%ing look like her!"
-- Picasso, 1926
6. "How the @#$%did you work that out?"
-- Pythagoras, 126 BC
5. "You want WHATon the @#$%ing ceiling?"
-- Michelangelo, 1566
4. "Where the @#$% are we?"
-- Amelia Earhart, 1937
3. "Scattered @#$%ing showers,my arse!"
-- Noah, 4314 BC
2. "Aw c'mon. Who the @#$% is going to find out?"
-- Bill Clinton, 1998
and a drum roll please............!

1. "Geez, I didn't think they'd get this @%#*^ing
mad."
-- Saddam Hussein, 2003

I personally object to strong language being used on here, as a mark of respect to ladies and children!!
I can Fcuking swear as good as anybody I CAN ASSURE YOU :P but I don't, but there are a few on here who think it macho to string a few swear words together.

I personally find it degrading all around and it certainly becomes offensive, but no one is ever chastised over it as per the rules........

But if someone is having a go at you, (personal abuse) you get a yellow card for retaliating (strange init)?????

But yes expletives are far better than the swear words used!!!

It had nothing to do with you not biting on my comment, you went way over the top IMO with your language which is why I reported the post

Merlin - if you recall when I asked on here whether swearing should be allowed WWIII broke out. It isn't actually against the rules except

Attempting to bypass the auto-censor

Phil, if you can find out about how the warning system works, would you let me know, please. I am still waiting for someone to explain it to me. <_<

Yer like two bitches. Why not just have it out in a fist fight and get rid of the bad blood.

I accept the warning i got for the quote i posted on here re Cheryl Tweedy, but this

So am I hence your posts will be edited and your warning level won't go up - today

is just bullshit.

Phil, you obviously don't read my posts. This doesn't inherently distress me too much, although you're now out of the Will, but I never, ever use the 'c' word as it is an old derogatory term about women. I deplored people trying to start to make it fashionable - attention-seeking pillocks, mostly - and I made my feelings about its use very plain indeed on here some time ago. Probably at a time when you were denying us your radiant company, but get yer facts right first, matey.

My facts are fine, thanks. My point was that you use expletives on here and nothing gets said or done about it.

Do a search using the F word as a keyword and "krizon" as the member who said it and it brings back 18 topics.

By all means, swear. I love it. I just do not like the fact some people are picked up on for doing so while others can seemingly type what they like.
