Vicky Pryce. A disgrace

A friend's son was run down by a taxi driver who thought he should have paid than he did for the journey. Aside from the son, an eye witness who was an off duty police officer, heard the car revving and turned round just the car made contact after driving up the pavement and took off. The son has sustained a double compound fracture of bones in lower leg and apart from the obvious may have permanent nerve damage. The witness didn't get the number plate but between him and the son we have type of car, colour and a description of the driver, known pick up point and there would have been damage to the car as the son is a big lad; the police have told my friend they have no time to look for the driver but if she wants to , she is welcome to try.
I am not making any comparision to jail sentence for Pryce but attempted murder and they have no time?

1 Contact the local authority who will license the taxi driver - they will be horrified and should be able to narrow down who they are .

2 Look up the Independent Police Complaints Commission.

Are they having a laugh, I think I would be going to the papers and complaining a lot higher up than whoever told you that.
Is there no cctv in the area, either the pick up or drop off point?

He was picked up outside a night club we think there must be CCTV there or at least close by,it was 2.20 am in the morning so we are guessing not a lot of cars on the road. The incident happened at 3 am and again there must be cameras in the area or on nearby road, the town being Windsor so with barracks and a certain royal residence nearby the town is packed with them.
I have offered to go with her with a camera and take pictures of the taxi drivers/cars at the pick up point, and show them to her son to see if he can pick him out on the premise that as no one from the police has contacted him and it is his livelihood, I am anticipating he will return to his normal pattern of behaviour.
Really appreciate the advice, will pass it on.

Thanks to efforts with a camera and our poor imitation of private detectives on Saturday night, an arrest was made this morning.
I have urged my friend strongly though to follow through with suggestions given on here though as not happy that she had to do basically do the work herself.

Good to hear. Now let's see if there's a conviction and a sentence which is is excees of that for telling fibs about a pointless speeding fine
