Hurry up and move!!
Age 62 - another gone to cancer. The gentlest, most fantastic example of a comedian there was IMO, no swearing, no nastiness, just superb observational humour that can be watched or listened to over and over. Be it writing, acting ( cos let's not forget her "straight" acting career as well!) presenting or doing the stand up she was so brilliant at, the world has lost a very very clever lady.

Thankyou for all the memories, the songs and the fact that I can't look at hostess trolleys ( especially if they have a woman's weekly on!) without giggling....

Only heard this about 7pm. Can't believe another gone to cancer this year. Heard it was a short illness, so one saving grace. Agree with all Trudi has said above about her.

Agree completely.

Loved her (and most of the others) in Dinner Ladies too, which was also brilliantly written.

Spot-on Trudij

It was no surprise that some years ago Victoria Wood narrated an affectionate tribute to Dads Army: that and her will remain fresh because whereas most comedy ages badly, being of its time, witty observation of the mundane nuances of the human condition and character are timeless
