Well done to 'em - despite Network Rail doing their best to ruin the end of the holidays by keeping the west coast mainline shut, Virgin managed to get me from Wigan to London in a little over 4 hours; Around 90 mins longer than it should have been by direct train, but considering it involved a train to Birmingham, a coach to Northampton and a train into London, I'm not complaining.

We try our best, but the infrastructure and Network Rail make it a lot harder than it should be. Losing Cross Country was a blow and having TransPennine`s running to Glasgow and Edinburgh is already proving very unpopular with the passengers.

4 hours to Euston today is good going, i was sending the odd punter to Kings Cross via Leeds as our Birmingham trains were getting very full.
