Wales Greatest person

You haven't read my post properly. Of course it was their fault. If they had been digging up coal rather than bloody singing they wouldn't have lost their jobs

And my father knew Lloyd George!

See, it's taking a while, but bit by bit, they're being found. Still heavily political or in entertainment/arts. Come on, inventors, engineers!

With a name that looks like someone has jumped up and down on the keyboard, hes very easy to forget

 Keep going, Clivex! If they didn't bite hard enough after the choir remark, they will after insulting one of their ancients! Yes... Welsh kings... what happened there, then? Don't tell me we wicked English battered them out of existence?

Do you remembering my post about Edward 1 being a total git?

Apologies if my laughing at his name has upset his mum, who may well be reading this

But I can imagine when they executed him (presume we did)

"we hereby chop the head off of ...er er er....... oh you read it out" (passing scroll to his mate)

Earl Bertrand Russell

Just remembered, and have checked it out; Charles Rolls (Rolls-Royce) came from Monmouthshire.

We, by which I suppose you mean the English, didn't execute him.

G-G, sorry, me no remembering, but you can reminding me if you liking!

Apart from anything else, Edward was responsible for was having Llewellyn's brother Dafydd hung, drawn and quartered for treason (which was not the normal mode of execution then) and imprisoned Dafydd's two young sons who were approximately 5 and 3 at the time of their father's death. One is believed to have died age 11 and as for the other one, records state that a cage was built for him to be kept in when he would have been in his forties, although to be absolutely fair that was in Edward 11's time, but when he died is not recorded. Their 6 month old sister was put in a nunnery not knowing who her family were, and Llewellyn's daughter Gwenlillian, aged 6 months whose mother died in childbirth, was also put in a nunnery. It is not known what happened to Dafydd's mother other than she never saw the children again.
Sharon Penmand and Edith Pargeter (aka Ellis Peters) have both written very good novels covering this period.

Thank you for putting up the link Walsworth.
