Good afternoon.

Saturday was not bad for me, as it goes. It was just so good to see Scandinavia win again; particularly as I'd noted him three or four runs before and subsequently followed him. Not only does he have class in spades, he stays, has finishing pace when needed, even over this 14f and showed again that he's as game as the proverbial pebble.

Galeron placed so a tiny profit with him and he confirmed, I think, that even further would suit. I thought the Cambridgeshire might suit but I see he's entered for the Balmoral at Ascot. Mmm... I think Id prefer further than the mile to be honest. I should add that sire Comacho doesn't support a longer trip but, rather, a shorter one so I wouldn't be all that bothered if they dropped to 7f.

No show from Seven Questions but, I tell you, he'll get his head in front before long and he'll be a monster price to do so, I would imagine, so no regrets in selecting that.

Today there's only one bet for me which is:

Chantilly Lace - 3.35 Sandown 5/2 Win

I think this should be favourite, you know and, as such, is reasonable value. That nearest finish run behind Cercene in Gp 1 company looks head and shoulders above these. Yes, favourite Sallaal looks be an improving sort but that's to be proved in this class and I'm more than happy to oppose him here with the already proven CL.

I have a noted NH horse in Step Above (5.00 Kelso) but will do it for farthings as insurance so wouldn't recommend him absolutely.

I am so looking forward to the NH season, I must say. Good to see NH Andy starting his thread.

Oops.

Good old Yorick backed Chantilly Lace who ran like an absolute drain and the other one, Step Above, was never trying an inch (oh, sorry, "never travelling"), as his stable companion wins at 12/1.

You know, I'm getting bored with this sort of show.

Today I had a little ew on Flying Finn. Broke down, PU. And so it goes on.

Looks like Scandinavia is entered in the British Champions Long Distance Cup at Ascot on 18th Oct but he has Trawlerman & Sweet William having another go at winning now that Kyprios has retired. He can do the distance and beat Sweet William & Illinois in the Goodwood Cup 2m but Trawlerman seems to be favourite.

Then there's Galeron as you say entered in the Balmoral. The opposition looks a bit tough in this one but if he runs the price is 33/1 at the moment

Hiya mate.

Sorry for the delay. I've been away on the lovely island of Sardinia: not somewhere I've ever been but I'll definitely be going again; laid back, beautiful and somewhere to go to keep learning Italian, which I've been trying to do. Mi piaci molta la Sardegna.

As for Scandinavia, I sensed early on that this one might be a 'bit special' and, boy, he's proved that alright, hasn't he. However, they're not running him on Saturday and it looks lke Trawlerman, another of my previous followed horses who has done me proud, will deliver the penalty kick.

Galeron's a funny one and difficult to predict. I've been thinking that he looks as if a step up in trip might suit. Also easier ground. There's no doubt that, should he produce the form of his run in the Hunt Cup over c/d off a mark of 101, he'd be bang there. Maybe a return to Ascot will suit, too. He ran a cracker earlier at Sandown; also a stiff track.

Galeron like you say " Maybe a return to Ascot will suit " maybe one to consider for a place
to be honest a couple of others I prefer
