What are you backing Today? Part 2

Had to happen. Magellan Cloud into 6/4 - 2nd. Got my stake back as a free bet. Did I toss it on Straya? "Nah, I'll save it for something better later in the week as a top up". Check results, gutted.
Right after that, my cat then hops on the bed and manages to vomit on both the duvet and sheet, finalised with a sensational toe stub in the mayhem. Just what you need at 1:50am.

Nothing until Thursday. If I were a bear, I'd stick some nuts up my ass and go to sleep until the Lincoln.

Mate you've been sorely missed around the forums it's good to have you back.

Mr Hampstead is interesting going forward I think after that. Battled well off top weight giving the second horse who looks a solid yardstick a fair amount of weight. He holds an entry in a 1M6F handicap at Newmarket in 10 days or so. I wonder if he'll carry a penalty for that now or how the new mark will affect his weight, (I'm always poor at knowing this type of thing, I'm just too easily confused).
David Egan booked for Mr Hampstead so looks like they are going for it with a 6lb penalty.

A horse I put on the flatties to follow thread, Kildare Legend, is also entered, though I've a feeling he'll be better with cut in the ground.

If it's good or firmer I'd prefer Mr Hampstead for a bet. If it went good to soft or softer, I'd have to consider Kildare Legend a bit more.

8.30 Uttoxeter - Piecederesistance a former useful sort at his best on the flat is an infrequent winner these days, has yet to get off the mark in 9 starts over timber ( 3 seconds & 2 thirds ) , on a long losing streak and just about stays the trip - but EW claims nonetheless at his best, and may well be the EW option at a top quote of 14/1

Utter gutter at Catterick, but my friend is over in the UK and is having a day at the races there, so gave him my thoughts on the three 7F races.

CATT 2:20 LANGHOLM (Small win bet)
Almost certain to lead, nice draw. If can get a little breather in aroudn the turn, may not be caught.

CATT 3:50 INVINCIBLE RUBY
Raced alone LTO, but time before over CD didn't get a clear run. Should be seen in beter light today. Gennadius looks likely to lead and stays further, so may try to pull them along at a faster pace than optimum to bring stamina into play, but this should set things up nice for Invincible Ruby over the trip.
Call Me Betty rates a danger as open to improvement and Dods yard in better shape now.

CATT 4:50 CROWN'S LADY
Strong form line with Invincible Ruby. Obvious danger would be easy LTO winner In A Hurry. The Hannon runner first time in a HCP lacks on the clock to date. Coconut Bay could run into a place, but looks a touch outclassed for the win.

I chucked a stake return bonus bet I had on a win treble at 49/1.
Also had small Win bet on Langholm at 7/2

Thursday, Nwm 3.00 - I put one on the longshot thread and still think the price is wrong if its last run can be taken seriously but there's another one in the same race I've only got round to putting a figure on (waiting for the form to arrive as it ran only 10 days ago and didn't want to rely on guessing from the RP results).

In theory, it really should be a hot favourite but for now seems ignored in the betting at 8/1 tops (5 places), which I've taken.

Crestofdistinction won last week on the Tapeta. Like the other horse, it was a low-level race, but at least it was a handicap with enough runners (10) to make it meaningful. The time was decent enough for the level and he probably got an easy time of it out in front but did put the race to bed with a mid-race injection of pace the others couldn't live with and won by a wide margin despite being eased down from the half-pole.

He's got a 6lbs penalty to contend with here but he went up 16lbs for the win so is officially 10lbs well in. That alone should make him favourite in a handicap.

I'm not sure he'll be fast enough early to make all here but he strides like a miler and should be running on well late.

300 Newmarket I've done 3.
I'm not sure if the draw matters but I thought high was preferred but I don't know.
I agree with DO about Crestofdistintion 8/1 for the reasons he said.
On a line through the favourite prince of india comes out the best of those that have run against him.i got 19/2 with a ladbrokes bonus.
I read that front runners do well but tomorrow there are a few that could set it up for a finisher and that's where Zaher12 /1Comes in.
drawn in 3 which could be a negative but it doesnt need a tardy start which he seems to do but this extra furlong should suit.
Holly Doyle is like a female Jamie Spencer and I hope she doesn't leave it too late.

Zaher is the main bet.

I came a lot closer than would first seem to landing that treble yesterday. At least my friend should have covered his entrance fees and beers.
Had a few entered for Thursday, but they've all dropped out. Couple tomorrow and more than I care to count for Saturday.

Good luck,O though I like Palladium.
Ran well in the Hardwicke, but today's less testing and Ryan sticks with him.

Quite pleased with that:cheerleader:

I was seriously tempted to put this on the 'should be odds-on' thread but discretion has got the better part of valour.

I suspect Outsider and one or two others will agree with me that on Saturday at York the 2.00 race is Blue For You's sole aim for the season. He's hacked up in it the last twice and gets in now a pound lower than last year, and Tudhope comes here when he could have gone to Newmarket for the Bunbury Cup.

It's arguably a better race this time but connections of the others would maybe be as well just to back Blue For You and give their own an easy.
