What are you backing Today? Part 2

It shouldn't beat the favourite, obviously; I just thought 10/1 was the wrong price. It's jt-2nd top on ORs with the 2/1 2nd-fav and 1lb in front of it on adjusted RPRs and rated higher than the 8/1 3rd-fav.

Don't see a thread for the Reynoldstown tomorrow and there might not be enough interest to start a discrete one but I've taken 10/1 the outsider of the four, Crest Of Fortune.

Even money about the favourite might prove to be generous but the 10s about Crest Of Fortune looks wrong too. I’ve taken a bit of that as I can see the price halving as pundits highlight this over the course the day. I would be even more interested in 5/1 without the even-money favourite but only one firm is pricing that market up and they’re only 3/1. More might come online by the morning but, of course, if there is a move for COF today then the 5s will never happen :(

The favourite has come out. COF is now 9/2 absolute tops, generally shorter. I don't know whether to feel positive or negative about it.

I chanced a small wager on Jonjo O'Neil's horse Jipcot 3:00 Ascot at 11/2 boosted to 6/1 last night as his horses are in form and it his only runner at the course.
Been backed into 3/1 best price and still shortening.
Mind you when I beat the bookies on prices they rarely win!!!!

1pt Win Patent on these three classy types today

2.25 Ascot-Listentoyourheart @ 7-1
2.40 Haydock-Reckless Spending @ 4-1
3.50 Haydock-Minella Emperor, currently 5-1

A hopeful yankee for the sake of a watching interest:

Asc 2.25 - Range (12/1)
Asc 3.00 - Joyeux Machin (11/2)
Hay 3.15 - Myretown (10/3)
Hay 3.50 - Minella Emperor (9/2)

No expectations. I'll be happy if they all appear to be trying.

12.55 Haydock Love Sonnet
2 from 3 over hurdles, think there is a some market value ew 20/1

1.28 Haydock Western Zephyrr
Outsider of the field but looks to run well after layoffs.EW 40/1

2.25 Ascot John Barbour
2 wins at Uttoxeter and a second at Leicester. Looks to be progressive. 8/1
Good run there Chunk.

That win for Fiercely Proud was more than a tad annoying.

It was my immediate fancy for the race but when I saw that Ben Jones was on Range I assumed connections of the latter had asked for him to ride and Pauling let him off FP was negative for that one.

I also took it as a positive for Dylan Johnston's mount in this next race at Haydock so stuck a wee bit on that. If that last race is anything to go by it will end up on end of a donald-ducking as well.

My father had a phrase he was won't to employ if he was unimpressed by a person's/horse's ability.

"X can play/run/throw/jump/ride etc nane."

I found myself muttering during that race, "Whisky Yankee can jump nane." One to bodyswerve until it learns its trade.
