Given that I'm a nightowl [and at this stage am aware of who the other forum nightowls are: step forward Krizon and Gearoid] I'm beginning to wonder if I should try and go to sleep earlier.

However, I am finding it slightly difficult. Hence, I am here starting topics at 1.55am..

Just wondering, in the real world, what time everyone on the forum goes to bed at.

I'm excluding moderators from this question as we all know that several have been known to sleep with one eye open

I'm as bad as you are Dan. 2am is the earliest but thats normally when I'm sober and physically exhausted from drink and work. Otherwise I cant get out off my barman habits. I can go to bed as late as 11am but sometimes dont get out of it until 7pm. Its a vicious circle you get into really.

On a school night it is usually 9pm up to bed for sleep at 9.30. Half an hour reading first.

If only I could read.
I'll read you a few lines...

I considered going to a gay bar. I’d been, of course, with friends—I like the energy of gay bars. Sticky with alcohol and sex, they’re practically humming with testosterone......

As a family, and having to be at work/school for 7.00 a.m., I can't recall any of us turning in before 11.00 p.m. Later, with still the same work start time, I used to stamp down the straw around 12.30, read, and finally snore off about 1.00 - 1.30 a.m. Last night I went to bed around 1.30 a.m, was woken by my neighbour leaving to take a trip somewhere at 3.30 a.m., and then up at 7.30 to hear if Fontwell was going ahead or not (it is), so sleep isn't always unbroken when it comes, anyway! I just don't know how I manage to keep this youthful complexion and witty cheerfulness going on so little...

Usually after 11pm but I am a terrible sleeper so the time usually depends on whether I am bored/out.

Into bed at 10.45 p.m. I usually do the Irish Times crosaire (when Mrs. BtB is tired) and fall asleep around eleven.

I get up at 6.55 a.m. to be at my desk at 8.15 a.m.

At the weekends, I try to sleep in on Saturdays, as I have to be up early for football of a Sunday (kick-off is always at 10.30 a.m.). Mrs. BtB does not like to sleep in on a Saturday, so I don't always manage to stay asleep past ten o'clock.

I'm rarely in bed before midnight. If I go to bed earlier, I'll lie awake for hours around 4am. Georgia will get me up at least once in the night before she wakes up for good around 6am. While I was pregnant I got up at least three times a night for a wee so for around 18 months I've not had a single good nights sleep. Oh what I would give for an undisturbed 10 hours kip
