What is Dogs Die In Hot Cars like i aint got it yet but want to.
To me there is a hint of XTC(especially on Apples & Oranges)....but for all i know it could sound like Vera Lynns backing group. :nerd:

I just like what i like :shy:

Paul Newman's Eyes sounds like The Proclaimers

Ok, bored, so time to regurgitate this old favourite!!!! Right now I have U2 - All That You Can't Leave Behind playing....already on this shift I have listened to The Killers - Hot Fuss, Faithless - No Roots, Goo Goo Dolls - Dizzy Up The Girl & Matchbox 20 - More Than You Think You Are. As U2 is about to wind up I know have to make the terribly difficult decision of what CD to replace it with....... I reckon it's a close run thing between Jet, Embrace, Counting Crows & Damien Rice.....

On Damien Rice at the moment but it's about to finish, Jet next! Oh, & I had Robbie Williams in between U2 & Damien Rice.....not that I'm bored or anything!!!

Joy Division at 6 am aaargh- are you not a bit young for them - surely before your time

RICHARD TAUBER:

You are my hearts delight.

A ditty dedicated to Songsh--e.sorry sheet.

See, you are always on my mind.

:D

Superb song, Martin....I love the Killers!! At the moment it's Maroon 5 - Song About Jane.....& I have to get in the shower & get ready to go to work now......:(

Well call me an old saddo but I'm eagerly awaiting the new Tears For Fears cd which was released only in the US last week for some bloody reason. Hopefully should arrive tomorrow or Thursday. P.S. they were bloody good live in the nineties!

Cheers for that Latey!!! You're right though, it ain't a pretty sight!!!

Back on the graveyard shift.....done Jet - Get Born twice, now onto Embrace - Fireworks.

Dave,I got the album last week and I can safely say it was well worth the wait.

It's one of those albums that u aren't sure about on first listen but it soon grows on u.
There are lots of Beatles influences as u would expect, it's just a shame Curt's voice isn't heard a bit more.

I actually saw Roland tour under the TFF banner on the Elemental tour and he was excellent.

My father is a big fan also and is gutted that the album isn't released in the UK yet (he's not computer literate)
He loves the 'Going to California' video concert which also features Oleta Adams

I've heard the single and another track online on the website. I went to see the Elemental tour, but have to admit, the Seeds of Love tour with Oleta Adams was just superb!

Agreed on that, i got a copied version of Songs About Jane and a couple of others.
Being a bit of a rebel in terms of forum music at the moment so it's:
Khia - My Neck, My Back (lick it).

Martin

Brian Wilson's 'Smile'
and
kd lang's 'Hymns of the 49th Parallel'

both released on Monday.

In the meantime you could do worse than check out 'No Never Alone' by Justin Rutledge - acoustic Springsteen/Neil Young influences.

I don't know what any of you are talking about :(

K put me on the waiting list for Crumbly Towers

Smile is released this coming Monday but several tracks have been issued before eg. Heroes & Villains, Good Vibrations and the wonderful Surf's Up. Reviews of the live performances of the album have been generally very good. Perhaps the only downside is that it's effectively performed by a Beach Boys tribute band which can't have the same spark as the original 37 years ago.

Having played Smile a few times now, I'm impressed but then I'm an unreconstructed unconditional Beach Boys fan.

The piece is essentially a modern symphony being in 3 movements. Each movement is based on the theme of previously released songs - Heroes & Villains, Surf's Up and Good Vibrations - with short songs and harmony fragments expanding each theme. It sounds fresh and innovative now so quite how Brian Wilson conceived it 37 years ago when he was 24 is mind-boggling. I suspect the original version may have been a little darker and weirder with all the stuff he was taking.

All in all, very pleasing on the ear and uplifting for the spirit.

Ive had James - Getting Away With It.....Live, on the DVD player; was just thinking how long the concert was when I realised it's gone around twice!!!! Ah well.....Embrace's new cd for me now, Out Of Nothing, it's great!
