What's the worse way to lose?

When you don't have a bet.
Michael Winter's dad, a bookie/punter had a runner in a confined p2p years ago.
So big was the entry that , allowing for divisions, the races started a half hour before advertised time ; the confined maiden being the first race.
Long story short, the eldest son who had the money/ bookmaker credit to get a bet on missed the race so the horse won by default when the duo ahead fell independently at the last two fences.
The eldest son arrived into the parade ring just as the winner returned.
"What happened ?" he asked
"You were late, that's what f****g happened ! 'tis a fine thing to bet on a horse and he fall on you, at least you had some chance of winning; this way we had no chance !"

When you know the jockey has gone too early and then gets nutted right on the jamstick.

The 2nd last at Cheltenham has been brutal to me even after they moved it, it seems to cost me dear at some point at least once a season.

When I’ve found one to beat the hot favourite only for it to be nutted by complete outsider.
I once thought I'd found a good thing and lumped on.it got beat by a 100/1 shot who was a stone out of the hcap and died 3 days later.
I stopped gambling for a while.
