Would a bottle of whisky, bought around 1968 but never opened, be worth anything?

Mrs O confirms it was bought in 1975 shortly after she turned 18 and was on a school trip to France at the end of sixth year. (I thought she'd bought it on a second-year trip.)

The surprise is how she managed to hide it from you for all those years Mo!!!
Brother having a look but said don't open it yet!!! He said older whiskies are getting rarer and unlike wine don't change in bottle so hang fire and we'll get back to you.
It was her mother who kept it hidden. It resurfaced when we were clearing out her bit of the house prior to putting the old hacienda on the market. Apart from that, I've only taken to drinking whisky in the last couple of years.
Isn't this where An Cappall drops in to make a mother in law quip!
