My MP is Labour's very own James Purnell. I have never even met this person who makes my decisions for me in our wonderful democratic process. Nonetheless, in my name and without consulting me, he has voted for introducing ID cards, student top-up fees and going to war with the Iraqi people. He hardly ever rebels against the party line and has spoken in a massive 13 debates in the past year (at just over a mere £10,000 per speach).

My alternative is some enigma called johnsbell@btopenworld.com. Now I have no idea who this guy is or what he stands for, but if he's anything like the other Tories, he'll want privatised everything (like Labour) limited immigration (like Labour) and a strict, intrusive police system (like Labour).

There you have it. That's how state democracy works for me at grass roots.

What does everybody think about their MP? Is your MP serving you as well as you would like?

*Wanted to edit two things on the title, the spelling of MP and the declassification of the MP's sex.*

Peter Ainsworth, had some responsibility for environmental matters, but returned to the back benches a couple of years ago to spend more time with his wife, who's been quite seriously ill.

A personable and well-liked man, very much in the tradition of the seat (previous MP was Geoffrey Howe).

Na na na na naaa, I've got 5(TDs), who have done 5 times as much for me as Flagship Uberalles representative has done for him.

Mr Inca has an important point here. If your choice is between a loyal Blairite MP or a Tory you may as well have no choice at all.

Just the four here. Thing is, I only voted for one of them, and that wasn't even a first preference...

What a name! Apart from its potential for rhyming slang it's also an oxymoron.

My MP at my formaer abode was Tom Brake, who dropped in for coffee just after I moved in. When he won the seat in 1997, he sent me and many others a nice letter of thanks. He helped me with a couple of estate management matters and I found him eminently approachable and pleasant.

I'm now in the constituency of Stephen Timms, who is a Blair loyalist. I wouldn't vote for him but he seems at least according to the local paper) to do a lot of good things in the area. Respect are challenging hard for the local elections and may well win the area I'm now in.

Mine is Ed Vasey. Don't know what he's done other than piss me off greatly by canvassing in my shop on bloody Grand National day last year :angy: "No Ed you twat, I haven't got time to speak to you, there is a queue of punters out the door!" :angy: He then left flyers all over the shop, which I cheerfully binned :D

Mine is - Liam Fox. I am unaware of anything I have in common with him.
You mean you don't claim to have been out on a date with Natalie Imbruglia.

I believe my MP is the tallest in the HOCommons.

what's he done...**** knows. :o

bring back Mr Morality  . The one that changed party, had an affair and encouraged voters to vote for his original party!!!!

John Redwood

Came knocking on my door during the general election & I set Mrs Perpetual on him. Doubt he'll ever walk up my path again.
