An enquiry was held to consider the circumstances surrounding the start of this race, in light of the ‘stop race’ flag being deployed as the start was effected, when stall 2 fail to open correctly. Tommie Jakes the rider of CABEZA DE LLAVE, Jack Doughty the rider of MY GENGHIS, Jack Dace the rider of ANTIPHON (IRE), Taryn Langley, the rider of COCO HILL (IRE), Alec Voikhansky the rider of CAMELEY DAYS, and the Starters were interviewed and shown recordings of the race. Ryan Kavanagh, the rider of MASTER ZACK was also interviewed and found not to be involved in the incident as he was unseated as the start was effected and Conor Whiteley, the rider of BEAUMADIER (IRE) was also interviewed but found to be not in breach as he obeyed the recall flag and attempted to pull-up BEAUMADIER (IRE). Having heard their evidence, Jakes, Doughty, Dace, Langley and Voikhansky were all suspended for 10 days each for failing to obey the recall flag. The Stewards declared the race void as all mounted runners had completed the course.
