They are all fillies Venusian. They are all yearlings awaiting prep. I can see if I can find out for you as I am not sure who owns that one.

Kathy at this rate you might have no yearlings to go to the sales....they will be bought privately here!!

Have to say the one pulling a face in the first pic is a beauty. They're all very impressive though, good luck with them.

Any idea of the breeding of the one who thinks she's a comedian, Kathy?

It's difficult to find out Zoz, as my Brother's yearling is with a lot of others and he only visits once a month, so I am not sure how he can find out. I will have to print out the photo and next time I am at the stud, I can see if I can find out.

Cheers Kathy but don't worry about it, it's not like I could afford her anyway! Beautiful horse though!

Kathy - wouldn't it be cool if you could incorporate the singing horses DG put up earlier, so you could press each yearling, and they could sing "Silent - night - holy - night"? (Like the Best Mate card, with Simon Holt's Gold Cup commentary as you opened it.)

I've been given until the weekend to decide whether I want to buy the Picollo filly! Is it true Picollo had his first Group 1 winner this week or is Bruv winding me up?

PICCOLO is really taking off, Kathy - Julie's most enthused about him, and can tell you more. Remembering how cheapo PIVOTAL was, and is now something like £65,000 a pop, PICCOLO might just be the Next Big Thing in sires...

PICCOLO will never be a PIVOTAL, Jon - he's been around a whole lot longer and had some good oppotunities. PIVOTAL is one of those rather surprising stallions who is out performing at stud what his pedigree would have predicted. He has a fantastic ability tio upgrade his mares. Nor sure you would describe PICCOLO thus..

However, PICCOLO now has his G1 winner in LA CUCARACHA and is a really decent sire for getting actual winners. Unfortunately, I reckon he's probably going to have a quiet spell for a couple of years, as his books went down for a couple of years (his fee dropped from £5K to £2.5 this season).

I rate PICCOLO as I do COMPTON PLACE - really decent UK sires available to the commercial breeder at sensible stud fees. I'd be very happy to send RUNS IN THE FAMILY back there next season, all being well - in fact I wanted to use him this but my partner wanted to use IMPERIAL DANCER, so as it was his choice this year, that's where she went!

Maybe we'll be booking BARRANTES to him in 2006, eh Jon?

Well, I suppose if I can try and syndicate the filly so I might take the gamble. I was never planning to have 3 horses in training though and my bank manager is going to his do his crunch if I go ahead.

Now that Piccolo has had his first G1 winner, I am assuming the price to me has probably doubled. Purely business my bruv will no doubt explain.

PICCOLO - BARRANTES? That should really produce ze leedle speedball, Jules! Blink and you miss it...

PICCANTES - isnt that the new small car with 5 doors from Kia?? ;) :D

Kathy - you know as well as anyone that horses are like shoes - the more you have the more you need - in for a penny, in for a pound, may as well get hung for a sheep as a lamb....

anyway - Jamie needs more horses to ride - I'm sure Bren isnt working him hard enough!!!
