We need a separate thread for this.

I was just looking at the entries for the Ebor.

Live Your Dream is anti post favorite after his last win at Newmarket, over Global Storm (2nd), and previous Royal Ascot winner Amtiyaz (3rd).

I think it's interestimg Live Your Dream was subsequently raised 7lb in the handicap to a mark of 101, where as Global Storm back in second, who was giving Live Your Dream 6lb in weight this day, was only raised 4lb, meaning he'll be three pound better off for the 3/4 length beating he received by Live Your Dream at Newmarket.

A three pound pull at the weights can not be underestimated in a race like this, and while they're both improving types, I thought at double the odds, especially given he's more racing experience on turf than Live Your Dream, that if I had a spare grand, I might take the 16s or 20s on Global Storm each way at this relatively early stage.

I'm aware Tout fancies Tribal Craft but anyway we need a new thread for the meeting all things considered.

Also, Live Your Dream is entered in the Group Three race the Lonsdale Cup the day before the Ebor, so anti-post backers be careful.

Amtiyaz is entered on Shergar Cup weekend this Saturday so it'll be interesting to see if he frank the form of that Newmarket race.

ST Marks looks short for the International. Mac Swiney would be interesting if he went

Winter Power is tempting at 6s for the Nunthorpe in the hope Suesa stays home

LYD isn't 100% certain to make the cut, if memory serves. Backers would obviously get their money back if he missed the cut but it's enough to have me wanting to hold off for now (not that I've studied the race closely yet).

Taking 40s Deja was more about snaffling some early value since he WILL make the cut. He might not be a gamble (at any stage) but, as I said on the longshot thread, he is on a mark off which he has already won a top handicap therefore the price is just too long. But I have no idea if he is fit or injured or if they're even planning to run him in the race.

The thing about the Ebor itself, it's like the 13th most interesting race of the week. Certainly since the 3yos stopped getting into it.

Showing my age here. Back in the day backed Peleid for the Leger on the strength of its run in the Ebor (+ a really good run in France)

Only two races really count for me, the Juddmonte and the Ebor. The rest is a bit of a side show.

I like the Melrose and the Nunthorpe but they don't stir the blood enough for me compared with those two.

I find the race more interesting now than in the days when some well bred 3yo you knew nothing about would dominate.

Interesting that Kinross and Starman take in the Maurice de Gheest on Sunday but Space Blues, the defending champ if you like, is not involved. The Godolphin animal is 5/1 for the City of York and although he's also entered in the Hungerford a week before the Ebor meeting I think that's worth taking.

Cheers for the info on Kinross, Euro.

I felt his last performance was good even though a few were unhappy with the rides on the others.

We should have the six day entries tomorrow.

Great Voltigeur should be interesting.

I've been waiting to see Scope run again, after he was 5 lengths behind Adayar in that Lingfield derby trial.

A good few months ago now that was, but perhaps there's mileage in Scope's current price of 25/1, were he declared for the race.

7/4 now for the City Of York.

Well spotted, hope you took the 5's?
