Oh, yes, Black Books, and Father Ted - absolutely priceless stuff! But Emmerdale isn't strictly a series - it's a soap, which means it will go on for 50 years before someone nukes the village.
Black Books - remember sleeping on Liverpool St Station's floor after missing our train home after seeing it recorded in December - God it was cold, but it was so funny. Bill Bailey snatched a book off a shelf and read to the crowd at one point, many laughs were had. Dylan Moron was classic.
Teachers is finished though sadly, the last series wasn't up to the standard and the cast, equally talented, couldn't really carry it after Adrian Bower and Navin Chowdry left (I hope I got those names right!)
The first three series were hilarious but the chemistry just wasn't there afterwards.
Only watch television as an afterthought. But here's the cream of what I skim in no particular order.
Teachers was great. Brian and Kurt were very funny, as were Penny's tits and what they did to them. Simon and Susan had great chemistry and the subtle undercurrents were brilliant.
Also like Family Guy, South Park, Scrubs, Sky News (with fair, impartial and thought provoking guys like these, who needs the Ministry for Public Enlightenment and Propoganda?) Simpsons (earlier stuff), No Angels and a few others.
