I am lucky enough to live in the same town as the following superstars...

Elton John (Singer)
Claire Raynor (Agony Aunt)
Bob Holness (TV presenter)
Alan Dedicoat (The Voice Of The Balls)
David Elleray (Football Referee)
Dave Varnian (Singer in The Damned)
Clive Andeson (TV Presenter)
Mark Ramprakash (Cricketer)
Fearne Cotton (Children's TV Presenter)

...although I have only ever seen one of them locally in the flesh (Claire Raynor, at the bus station).

Who lives near you? Have you got a better potential cast for the next Celebrity Big Brother in your neighbourhood than I have?

I don't think there is a special website for this, but if you Google "Famous residents of <insert town>", you will find something.

From St. Helens

From New Zealand president Richard Seddon
Sir Thomas Beecham (conductor
Johnny Vegas (comedian)
Rick Astley (singer)
Jacqui Abbot (former Beautiful South vocalist)
John Rylands (Philanthropist)
Nick McCabe (guitarist with The Verve)
Louise Glover (glamour model)
Willy Russel (playwrite)
Jenny Frost (Atomic Kitten singer)
Emma Rigby (actress).

Also countless rugby players.

http://www.sthelenscelebritynews.com/ for all St. Helens celebrity news :)

I made the mistake of googling Preston only to discover the Ordinary Boys and that twat from Celebrity big brother at the top of the page. And this minutes after just idly watching the news and having Jon Bon fucking Jovi on my screen. I`m depressed now and i blame you Relkeel.

Jenny Frost "lives" in Moss Bank and Emma Rigby being only young (at least 6 years younger than me) lives with her parents round the corner from me.

In Banstead we have a restaurant that is popular with celebrities as it is quiet and discreet. Le Raj serves Bangladeshi and Mogul cuisine and is the only Indian restaurant to have been awarded La Confrerie de la Chaine des Rotisseurs, given by the international gastronomic society.

Chris Tarrant, who lives not too far away, has his own table. Recently the place was surrounded by men with walkie-talkies as the President of Iraq visited for dinner on his way back from a meeting with Mr Tony. Apparently one of the President’s security men has been a customer there for years and he had booked a table for 15 people. Enam Ali, the owner, says they had halal meat and soft drinks.

Enam Ali is Chairman of the Guild of Bangladeshi Restaurants, a stakeholder in the FSA (Food Standards Agency)and is heavily involved in promoting Indian cuisine.

One subject that rankles is the lack of recognition for Indian restaurants when it comes to dishing out top awards such as Michelin Stars and Egon Ronay accreditation. He claims that top-class Indian cuisine is overlooked and he doesn't know why. The Evening Standard wrote a review about Le Raj and ended it by asking "Where are you Michelin inspector?"

There is always a down side, of course. Among customers that have been spotted in the restaurant are Max Clifford, John McCririck and Davina McCall...

Steve Coogan (I allowed him to eat in the same restaurant as me a few months ago) (Hove, actually)

Zoe Ball and Fatboy Slim (Shoreham Beach)

Macca (Hove Lawns and Shoreham Beach)

Julie Burchill (Brighton)

Joanne Good (radio presenter) (Brighton)

Bob Holness (tv presenter) (Shoreham Beach)

Alison Lapper (severely disabled painter and single mum, currently adorning the 'empty' column in Trafalgar Square in sculpted form - and very lovely it looked in white stone, gleaming in the sunlight on Derby Day) (Brighton)

Gresham Blake (funky tailor to the stars - the shop's just round the corner from me) (Brighton)

Too many DJs, artists, artistes, comedians, musicians, writers, showbiz folk to mention...

He's ours!

...and I'm quite sure he would give an "F" and an "O" to anyone who says he lives in Brighton!

Erm - it's a bit further away than you think, Brian! Chris Tarrant lives in Bucklebury Common, around 2-3 miles away from my family home. Which is a good hour away from Banstead at least!

I think Wickfords only claim to fame (if you can call it that!) is Chantelle from CBB lives about 200yrds from me :o

He's an elderly chap, often wears a small white silky cap and loose fitting robes. Usually accompanied by 200 bodyguards.

Bristol's history throws up loads of very famous people but the only one of the current mob that I recognise is Baldrick. I wonder if that's why you can't get a decent turnip around here.

Correction - that's where his mum lives. Chris lives in Esher with Ingrid and all the kids.

Tarrant does actually have a house in Bucklebury too, Brian. He and his wife are often seen in the local pub - they have a house on the Common at Upper Bucklebury end.
