The horse I am depending on most is Teeshan. I backed him at 11.5 on the machine several times. if he wins I will have had a winning Cheltenham come what may. My next 2 most important are singles on Marine National and Brighterdaysahead nrnb

Good luck with Teeshan, Tanlic.

I can't see it myself, to be honest, but it's a race I don't get heavily involved in so I hope yours does the biz for you.

Just about everything is NRNB which I am not used to. What happens to say "A treble all NRNB" and one is a non runner is it a losing bet of does it automatically become a double?

Listening to Paul Nicholls in an interview on Youtube he was playing his cards very close to his chest and it was like pulling teeth trying to get him to comment.

When he has mentioned he never gave any indication that he won't be running. Personally I think he's a right horse and he facies him big time.just a feeling

Bet365 are still 10/1 Premier Magic in the Foxhunters and I keep topping up.

For me he is by a long way the best priced horse running at the festival. He won it last year and watch how unlucky he is in the last half mile, twice fuck3d over by the loose horse and although you can’t see it in the RP Form he’s won both P2Ps he’s run in this season meaning he’s unbeaten since being pulled up in this in 2022 when he was miles below himself.

He was arguably even more impressive in his next Cheltenham win after last years Foxhunters and unlike most of the others he has no question marks.

The trainer has been making confident noises today in the RP and the fact he’s 3 times the price of the horse he beat last year (It’s on the Line) is simply because he’s an 11 year old but the nature of this race means there are many older horses. There hasn’t been a horse younger than 10 that has won it since 2014

And Salvador Ziggy is another important one.

MISTER COFFEY. Kim Muir is my main bet.
Doddiethegreat. M.pipe.

Both Hendo's.

Salvador Ziggy Dessies good thing 9/1
Teeshan. Tanlics good thing. 13/2

£5 ew double

Your record of digging them out speaks for itself but I hope you are waiting until the decs.

Nicky ran Mr. Coffey at Cheltenham last year unless her Ladyship insists, Nicky may preserve energy and send him straight to the National.

Doddiethegreat I do fancy but he will surely run in the Coral.
No Ordinary Joe's mark has been protected and he finished 2nd in the Martin Pipe last year off 1lb lower,

Salvador Ziggy is up against it big time being surrounded by the WPM's brigade

Teeshan won in 4m33secs the bumper is normally run around 3.60's which is a worry

Conclusion: we are chancing our luck:lol:

I am ashamed to say I just made a nice few quid laying Constitution Hill after backing him 3.9s and laying him at 2.6

I hope he makes it but it has to be fairly doubtful and if he does he will probably go off at backable odds

I have a couple of hospital appointments today so am tight for time but I will put up the case for Salvador Ziggy this evening once I've pieced it together in a way that makes sense [I hope].

I've got 10s and am kicking myself for not going in even more heavily at that stage. I'm less keen about going in at 5s just now because it might be that price on the day with the BOG.

But I don't see what gets near it

I'm also keen on it for the 2025 Grand National and Gold Cup :)

It was 2nd in the Kim muir 2 yrs ago and I don't think it's running in the national.i read a piece by Nicky and he doesn't expect to have a runner.

Slade Steel Ballymore. (Only goes here if Ballyburn goes Supreme)

Irish Point Stayers (Will go Champion if its soft or if Con Hill is out)

Lossimouth Mares

Dinoblue

Pretty sickening with Irish Point, i think he’s a good thing in the stayers, but Gordon wants to keep the 2 apart in an ideal world.

Tell me about it. I have 16s and a bunch of fivers at 32/1

He's totally lost the plot he wouldn't blow wind up State Man's backside let alone keep pace with CH.

Typhoo Tea is my fav to lay of the entire meeting and will not win the stayers IMVHO

Agree. I think Irish Point is the best horse in the race, most probably wins, but Teahupoo cant run anywhere else.

I hope Con Hill perks up and we get Irish Point in the Stayers. Will be my biggest bet of the week i reckon.

Those of you with long enough memories will maybe recall how keen I was on SZ for the Albert Bartlett last year after backing it at 66/1. By the time the festival came round his rating was up to 147 whereas Stay Away Fay went up to 148 for winning it. Ziggy was instead an excellent second in the Pertemps (155 on my figures) so I would argue that he could have won the AB by clear daylight. That still annoys me, to be honest.

SAF is now, after three chases, on 159.

I keep saying, and it's based on reading my figures over many years, that novice hurdlers improve a rough average of 10lbs into their second season, whether they stay over hurdles or go ever fences, and novice chasers improve another 10lbs into their second season [sooner or later, depending on how they're campaigned].

I fully expected Ziggy to go up to at least 165 this season and he hit 160 on my figures in the Kerry National. I fully expect him to hit at least 165 by the time the NHC comes round. Last year I had Gaillard Du Mesnil on 166 going into the race and he was odds-on.

The year before I had Stattler on 166 for winning it.

It will take an exceptional performance for anything to beat Salvador Ziggy. If he is 5/1 on the day I will be getting properly stuck in.

I don't really have one or two horses that make my Festival I have a more egalitarian portfolio much like the book I had in 2020 where unfortunately I suffered an absolutely appalling bout of seconditis. Of the horses listed that all finished 2nd only Ronald Pump and Lord du Mesnil were backed each way.

Abercadabras 10/1
Fakir D'oudaries 6/1
Sharjah 18/1
Lord du Mesnil (nhc) 15/2
Minella Indo 6/1
Ronald Pump (stayers) 20/1
Aspire Tower 7/1
Latest Exhibition 7/1
Santini 16/1 (33s apost initial bet)

This season I'm going into battle with:
Ballyburn (9/2 inc rollovers)
JPR One and Quilixios 16s and 14s
Chianti Classico 10s
Slade Steel 10s
Monty's Star 7s
Minella Indo 7s (inc rollover)
Facile Vega (turners) 5s
Banbridge 16s and 10s
Crambo 7s
Theatre Man 12s
Brighterdaysahead 3s
Gerri Colombe 20s (inc rollover)
Limerick Lace 8s (inc rollover)

He's widely available at 5's now..nrnb

So why wait for it to shrink if you are so confident?

There are some nice ones there Euro.
Good Luck.

My ante-post book is in tatters with several non-runners (backed early doors so not NRNB unfortunately)

Two of the three I have standing now are Iroko and Jonbon. Don’t have much hope for either any more really. Iroko might have been a nice bet if he’d had an untroubled season but can’t see him figuring after missing most of it. El Fabiola looks a monster so the Jonbon bet is probably dead and buried as well.

The other is Teeshan but I’m struggling to nominate a bumper horse as my most important horse of the festival

Because I'm not convinced he'll shorten any and might even drift, plus I'll get the BOG on the day. If I put on a lot today and it went out to 6s I'd be looking for cats to kick.

Teeshan on the drift out to 9/1 now so that one’s probably down the pan as well

The Real Whacker ew.
I have compared him to Tied Cottage and hope my stopped clock reads correctly .
Lecky Watson for the ew double , he was so unlucky not to be placed last year.
No bet yet; did Sounds Russian ap last year for Gold Cup at 66/1 ; neither of us recovered fully when he was bd.

I'm starting to get depressed. I've seen one or two different Nicky Henderson Cheltenham stable tours and there's no mention of Mister Coffey.
Doubt it will get into the GN as its no 80
