The Coalition will of course deny that they promised anything, each party will blame the other.

How so, James - we have a coalition government, not a single party one. It stands to reason that the manifestos each individual party wrote will be modified or even changed, does it not ?

I'm not so much worried about not getting a free bus pass as I intend to keep driving as long as my health allows but I'm worried I might lose out on my local authority's healthy living scheme which allows me a 50% discount on membership of the local sports centre at 55 and free membership when I turn 60.

I intended to be there every day once I retire.

August 23 2011 was my official (early) retirement date. Unfortunately, the local authority pulled the plug on concessionary prices for those aged 55+ so I'm having to walk the dog to keep (both of us) fit.
