Road to the 2022 Champion Hurdle

You can get 20/1 cause people will be ploughing money into the top 2 with absolutely no collateral form of any worth to tie in with any of the 2m novices in Ireland.

Constitution Hill has beat some 120/130 horses round Sandown and your shitting yourself with your Honeysuckle bets? Not sure if your on the wind up.

Collateral form....Are you fookin kidding?..... Who needs it? Have you no eyes in your head?

We got Nico one of the best horsemen in the game who was entrusted with the ride on Sprinter after Barry retired and rode Altior and Shishkin in their youth having orgasm when talking about the horse and your talking about Collateral form.?

When's the last time you saw a novice sprint up the Sandown Hill winning by half the track?

My Mate Mozzie was beaten by Willi Mullins's 4th string for the Mares Novice which is along way off what the Henderson's pair look like achieving....

His biggerst acheivemnt will be to have helped sharing the cost of getting Flooring Porter to Cheltenham:D

People eyes also had Third Time Lucki a fav for the Arkle 3 months ago.

Not denying they could be monster horses, but at the prices Id let them win before backing them. If Consitution Hill wasn’t Barrys best mate and Jonbon with the obvious connections,, they’d be closer in the betting with Sir Gerhard.

Bet on what you believe, and good luck to you.

It’s also doubtful that they both line up in the opener

Id rather them both run against each other as a trainer, personally. Guessing connections will decide that one, don’t think Hendo would have an issue with it myself.

Henderson is a different beast when it comes to the Festival itself.

He had no issues running Shishkin and Chantry House in the Supreme, or Buveur D’Air against Altior. I’d say it’s shading odds-on both Jonbon and CH will go against each other in the opener.

Both those pair were running against short priced Mullins favs, Shishkin & Chantry were 3rd & 5th favs.

Will he run two heavily fancied against each other when they’d both be favs for whatever race they go for…

Depends if he thinks there as good as the betting suggests for one. Also be better to get off to a good start and have the two darts in one race. Ive no doubt he knows which ones better though.

If they’re both genuinely that good split them. Id run them both in the Supreme though.

Incase you missed it Grassy........Sprinter Sacre V Spirit Son...Sprinter Sacre a big gangly baby went off at 11/1 totally unfancied by Henderson.

Altior V Buveur D'Air the latter was never put into the race and was totally unfancied by the yard.

Shishkin and Chantry House....Shishkin was regarded as a stone better than Chantry House.

At the time of writing Henderson has no idea which one of the two is the better and quite frankly until Jonbon runs again neither do we.

This was never the same at anystage with any 2 horses trained by Henderson you care to mention.

Nicky is being dipolmatic believe me. His 1st loyalty is to his business and his staff and it makes good buisiness sense to split them
without upsetting any of the owners.

You may think 25k of a differnece in Prize money is not a huge amount to him but it makes a big difference to his staff if he wins 2 big prizes instead of one.

Sorry Wilson I never noticed you had pointed out the same as I had.

Nicky's problem is as I said before how do you tell an owner "X" is better than yours and is going to beat your horse if they meet without upsetting him/her.

So his only option is a zoom call and hope one owner says I'm happy to send my fellow for the Ballymore...My guess is that will be Michael Buckley.

When you think about it he won in heavy ground on a stayers course going away. he would get 2 1/2miles standing on his head.

Certainly never did Faugheen any harm.......I said after Vautour was a certainty for the Champion Hurdle...Got that one very wrong:lol:

Henderson's record in the Ballymore is shabby, with only Simonsig really landing a blow for the yard - and he had already run a couple of times over 2m4f in his prep races. Whilst I've little doubt that CH would get further (not sure about Jonbon, tbh), do you really want to test the theory for the first time in a Ballymore? I dunno.

By running both of his, Nicky can completely duck telling one of the owners his horse is inferior to the other. He can legitimately say "I don't know - let's find out in the Supreme", and leave it at that.

I should add, I don't have a dog in this particular fight. I do have an ante-post Yankee with Jonbon at 33/1 included, but two others are dead in a ditch, and the final leg is Energumene in the Ryanair, which seems highly unlikely to be live come the Festival. Even so, I'd just like to see these two high-class novices take each other on, simply for the spectacle I expect them to provide. Throw Sir Gerhard into the mix (thought he was very impressive over Xmas, though perhaps less so than Henderson's pair), and it has the makings of an excellent renewal if all three get to post.

Half the track? He was 4l ahead of the runner up at the last and won in the end by 6. Minimal comparison between the two performances

Playing Devils advocate. The point being there’s numerous time’s you see horses do this kind of stuff on bottomless ground against inferior opposition. Don’t get me wrong the horse looks like he could be the real deal and I hope he is as good as he looks but let’s wait and see.

6 legths is a helluva distance to pit between your self and another horse is such a short space of time..leta lone in heavy ground..No denying he is avery special horse

You can't have it both ways Grassy...Nicky is a big fan of the Supreme and never makes a secret of which of his horses he thinks has the best chance.

Had he run Sprinter Sacre in the Ballymore or Buveur D'air who were both immature at the time do you honestly think he would have been doing them any favours?

Unlike you him having two strings to his bow I would rather see them both win at the festival and if they both end up being Arkle Horses so be it.......what a clash that would be and the build up would create a lot more interest if both were unbeaten going into it.It would be fantastic for NH racing.

You don't see horses finishing races like CH did last Saturday on really heavy ground.

I genuinely don't understand any of this post, or see that I'm trying to have anything both ways.

None of this has anything to do with their future careers over fences.

CH won in spite of the ground IMO. It is true that some horses handle it far better than others but can only excel on heavy. From his action he does not look like a horse that isn’t going to be better on decent ground. And that is very exciting.
