Really looking forward to the week's racing. Some bets already lined up and some general thoughts:

Tuesday:
Lennox Stakes looks a decent renewal. I'd have Noble Dynasty fav as I think Kinross might be slightly GATG, can't have English Oak or Audience. I've lost money already on Lake Forest ap (hope he runs next Sunday in France) and have punted his stable companion Tiber Flow at 12s already and will top up. Hopefully 8 will run.

Goodwood Cup is yawnsville. You always want a 3yo in this imo. They get too much wfa.

Arisaig I might back in the fillies handicap. She was well beat last time but the two fillies ahead of her were obviously well handicapped. Spencer booking at this track a negative though.

Wednesday:
Royal Power was most eye-catching in the Involvement race at the July meeting and he's most interesting in the opening 12f handicap for 3yos. He's entered in other contests but this seems the most suitable. I've taken 6/1 bit shorter now.

Sussex Stakes is fascinating but the opposite of the Goodwood Cup, I'd want a top class older miler in this but can understand why Charyn is Marois bound.

Thursday:
I have Opera Singer in a double with Big Evs (King George) so wasn't too happy to see Emily Upjohn supplemented for the Nassau. Looks a good renewal esp if Inspiral also takes part.

The Gordon Stakes could be bettable. I'd want to be against the AOB hotpot - maybe the Graffard horse or Meydaan who didn't stay at the royal meeting.

I've backed Balmacara in the 10f handicap that opens the card. He and Persica were miles clear of the third at Sandown and 10/1 worth chancing that he'll run (don't want the ground too fast).

Friday:
See Golden Mile thread I guess. I like Native Warrior but it's such a heavy draw race you sort of have to wait till it's made.

I think Big Evs is nailed on in the sprint. He should relish this track and even if he doesn't win he'll trade much much shorter than his current 7/2 so I'm trying to build a possie that will enable me to lay off some of my stake IR on the day.

Saturday:
Entries only out for a couple of races. Quinault will be interesting in the Stewards Cup if he runs, the trainer has been over-facing his thus far this season. His mark is a bit juicy now

GL,Euro - though I'm taking you on in the Lennox.
Chicago Critic was behind a wall of horses in the Jersey, while the first 2 were skipping clear.
Finished with a purpose when he did get out though. so I've taken the 16's ew.
Just hope for a proprr pace.

Funny really, constantly guilty of giving trainers too much credit. This prick Appleby is gonna run Royal Power over an easy 10 in the handicap on Thursday or overface him in the Gordon. Clueless.

Tuesday

1.50 Killybegs Warrior (E/W) popped up at a big price last year at Newmarket and has dropped a few pound below that last winning mark now. He could return to form off this rating of 97.

3.00 On paper Pogo (E/W) has a few pound to find, but he's an old favourite of mine, and I think Goodwood will suit him. He's placed here three times before, including in two group 2s, so I don't mind having him on board each way.

5.55 Princess Shabnam (E/W) looked a promising horse a while ago, with listed form against horses like Gale Force Maya, but has seriously gone backwards since then. Although she is now on a really fair mark. I'll stick her in the yankee anyway. and probably be disappointed again. The price is tempting though.

Good luck all. Enjoy the day.

1.50. Tony motanna and take heart 16/1 and 12/1.
2.25 Arabian sun 12/1.
3.00. Tiber flow. 6/1.
4.10 j.m jungle 6/1.
5.20 nocturnal 10/1.
5.55 Mrs bodacious 5/1.

Can't resist a small ew on Art Power (25/1) in the Lennox.
A sharp 7f may suit hi style of racing ideally.

Turftrax going maps have shown the ground going from soft all over to good all over since Friday and it's likely to dry again through the day. It should be just about perfect for the start of the meeting and hopefully the forecast rain will be no more than the equivalent of watering to maintain.

Not great for Lord Riddiford, I'm afraid, and I was toying with backing Trueshan ew in the Cup.

Will have a go on Dual Identity 150 Goodwood.

I saw that Knight had two in the race and wondered if Sir Busker (one of my alert horses) was in the race on his own merits or whether he was in, as top weight, to ensure the weights stayed down for his other runner, Dual Identity. When I saw they'd kept SB in last night , I went for that one but I see they've withdrawn SB this morning which makes me think that this was the plan so will have to do DI.

He was right at the back in the John Smith's lto and left it late to make headway. In last year's Golden Mile at this course, he really did make eye-catching headway to be closest at finish, off a high draw and being right out the back for much of the race.

Here, he's up 2f, drawn nicely in 4, can be held up in midfield and is a nice 12/1 for ew backers like me.

Quiet day for me apart from having gone in heavily each-way the other day with Lord Riddiford.

The drying ground is maybe the reason why the early market move has reversed but the die is cast.

1.50 - Enfjaar won the John Smith with plenty in hand and I can see him following up here without too much bother. I've backed Killybegs Warrior and rags Max Mayhem and Track Of Time for a bit of fun. They're well handicapped on their best form.

3.00 - Good race and very competitive. Modest bet on Noble Dynasty for the sake of an interest.

3.35 - Kyprios looks a good thing and I have to confess I love how Moore rides him. But my bet is Trueshan ew for the sake on alternative to the hotpot. You never know, Moore might have a brain fart.

4.10 - Lord Riddiford as mentioned the other day. Stuck with it and no interest in getting involved with anything else in the race. Just hope he goes on the ground.

None of the other races interests me.

Good luck everyone with whatever you've bet. Hopefully we'll be reading about some successful punts through the afternoon.

Crowley made a total arse of that. No need at all to be as far back as he was when the pace wasn't over-fast.

Still, a nice place return from Max Mayhem (50/1 sp).

I backed ifjaar at 2.24 and 1.54 to be in the first 3 and first 5 respectively.

Had I backed him to win I would have been raging. This is the exact type of ride jockeys are guilty of day after day.

No way did Crowley have to be that far back to settle the horse if he had been 5 lengths behind instead of 10 lengths he's have won by half the track........Just saying

Winner of the first looked lovely down at the start but I’d already gone elsewhere. Didn’t make the same mistake that time and backed the Appleby colt who’s very nice.

Well done backers of Audience and Art Power. Goodwood + fast ground = be prominent.

I must admit, I thought the penalty would do for Audience but he could be called the winner at halfway.

I wish I'd had the balls to back kyrios at 5 /2 to win by 4L or more.
Or even the 5 /4 to win by 2L +.
