The 2025 Glorious Goodwood Day 1 (Tuesday) thread

Let's face it, if just about any one of these racing media numpties tried to approach you with a microphone on a racecourse with a cameraman in tow, unless you had some sort of attention-seeking disorder you wouldn't even break stride as you silently carried on walking (away from them).

Gleesin is definitely on the irritating side.Aidan wasn't too chuffed with matts pointed question about Jan brugheul. On balance though chappers usually knows how much he can get away with.

Ok, get the aftertiming sick buckets at the ready, but I've sugared the pill at the end with a disclosure to give everyone a chance to have a good laugh at me at York.

Scandinavia impressed me at Newmarket - I thought he had St Leger winner written all over him.

But at the time Lambourn was ante-post favourite.

But I thought: "What if they're desperate to swerve an early NH stallion tag for Lambourn and desperate to get a 1m2f G1 into him?"

York (extended ten) if we have a wet August and it's like glue on the Knavesmire marshland might just be the target in which case he wouldn't go to Doncaster.

So I had one of my mad (about one cops a YEAR) related-contingency doubles - Lambourn for York and Scandinavia for Doncaster.

And looks like Lambourn is indeed going to York - for the fecking Voltigeur! FML! 😂

Like yourself I thought Scandinavia looked the perfect type for the Leger after Newmarket - the 10's 8's 7's and 6's immediately after the race looked far too big, I couldn't believe Lambourn was as short as he was - all being well he'll go for the Arc, just can't see him running at Doncaster.
