The 2025 Racing League

2 of my biggest let downs from Goodwood run tomorrow night and didn't look like they were going to be much of a price but now the market is opening up a bit Bet365 are going 8/1 parole doro when everywhere else is 9/2 4/1 which i thought was about right must be some value in that 8's. Was a bit of a no show at Goodwood stuck further back than you'd want and hemmed in for a long time. Didn't exactly set the world a light when it got space. Previous run at Newmarket looked for all the world like this 10f trip would suit worth another go imo and hopefully get a bit better run will not mind the ground one bit.

Brosay in the 18.30 is now 9/1 best first opened up at 6s i think there is some value in that providing he can produce his best on this faster ground he's gone alright on good ground and ideally he's wants a stiff 5f with a bit of cut. Perhaps stepping up to 6f here he might just get home on better ground. Certainly well handicapped when things fall right for him.

Ive had a trixie on the 3.
I was keen to back Parole D'oro after his last run where, to my eyes, Ryan's ride left a lot to be desired. However, I'm not convinced 10f is the trip; I think he may be a miler. Given that reservation, 2/1 's just not big enough.

Completely agree 2's isnt big enough it's ridiculous. A lot of questions to answer after Goodwood on everything prior to that id of said 10f would probably suit. Goodwoods a funny track the ground was possibly gd'sft that day can't remember. I was prepared to give him another chance tonight but wouldn't at his current price there's probably a bit of value in some of the others now.

One for me at Windsor:

Zoulu Chief - 6.30 14/1 4 places.

Ians put that up aswell and I looked at it thought its no chance on its last outing but then noticed its been gelded and was plenty of money for it earlier as there has been for all the ones Uncle smart arse put up in fact I think all 4 halved in price. His entourage of followers have made their move.

"Leafy" and his favourite "Beard" are at Windsor tonight and I've told "Leafy" that, in the event of a challenger to us inside the final furlong, I frankly expect the "Beard" to take one for the team and do an Emily Davison.

"Leafy" will have got him in for nothing on R4R and blagged him a bite to eat in the O&T, so it's not much to ask.

Gotta ask do leafy and beard have a code name for you ? And do you have a collective gang name something like Rhoscoyln's robbing rascals or something along those lines. And is it wrong that I picture leafy and beard as the wet bandits from Home alone ?

I agree that parole d'or is too short.
I'm hoping Callum Shepherd has a good night as I've done a massive Danny life changing trixie.
Outlandish. 530. 25/1 almost got 28s but Hills kept switching its price.
Auld toon loon 800. 22/1. Last run was too bad to be true.
Rebel path 630. 22/1

Also done secret beach 730. 14/1
Love is the law 600 5/1.

"Leafy" actually invented his own nickname after I referred to him (on a Podcast I did with a friend last year) as a further friend of mine who always calls Lingfield Park "Leafy."

"Leafy" was fine with it, but asked, if he became an ongoing cameo role character theme on subsequent Podcasts, if he could be nicknamed "Leafy."

It stuck.

He's actually my oldest (not "best" - he doesn't want that responsibility) friend, I've known him nearly 40 years.

I wouldn't actually know what, if anything, "Leafy" and the "Beard," (who I've never met) call me, but, if life's formbook is any guide, any label/nickname they have given me is highly unlikely to exceed four letters in length.

"Leafy" is pretty well-heeled tbh - he's made life be kind to him - I wouldn't go as far as to say his back garden has a name ("Surrey") but he's done alright for himself.

If you're gonna do a crime, do a big one, that's what my Dad used to say.

Like Slim remarked recently, multiples are the modern betting weapons of mass destruction.

If all four of mine cop tonight, I'll be moving to a better neighbourhood - so I can lower the tone of it.

Donald Trump is already saying it's only 3/1 the Summit ends in failure.

The big mistake IMO was not holding it at Windsor tonight, near the old prawn curry and rice outlet, just after the Class 2.

Does that mean there's a 75 percent chance it will end in success?

I think President Macron and PM Starmer would settle on that.

Wins at 14s. Well done.

Words cannot adequately describe what a f$%^ing waste of space Charlie Hills is. It's so frustrating picking a horse out to follow and the c*** who trains it runs it over the wrong trip. He's not his dad that's for sure.

I always said Danny was the best judge in the Midlands - admittedly I meant the best judge of a good Balti in the Midlands, but he's diversifying.

I hope you had it in a forecast with my beast, who Stott seemed unaware has only ever won when it's led.

No wonder Megan got rid.

The 12f race at Royal Ascot might have taken its toll on Auld Toon Loon, hence the next run which was too bad to be true.

33 days off the track is a reasonable amount of time to get him good again though. I haven't forgotten how unlucky he was at Chester and thus he does have some back form. I think 10 furlongs is his correct trip. I'll take a chance on him in the last race tomorrow as at around 16/1, I'm happy enough to speculate.
Has every chance on his Chester run.

I just wonder if he's at his absolute best with some cut in the ground, but they were only 0.98s outside standard in that race in May and, if he's fully effective on tonight's expected Good to Firm, he's handicapped to go close if back to form.
I have to thank The Fortune Teller as he got me to have another look at Auld Toon Loon, who I'd have fancied strong if unexpected rain had arrived but who I wasn't sure about on quicker ground.

After seeing all my bets collapse in price - then collapse in their races! - that's "got me out of bastard trouble," as one hilarious old betting shop punter in Hull in the 1980s used to say.

Kudos to TTF and Danny - who says the Racing League is no use to punters?

I can eat now.

Had to wait until the last but Auld loon toon did the business. Saved the day.
I don't know what Callum was doing on Rebel Path going the scenic route, does that count as a non trier?

Totally agree , shocking aftertimeing , I won 122k on a £ 1 e/w Canadian , I am just a mug punter who struck very very lucky.

Well done to the Auld toon loon backers wasn't one i fancied myself after his John smiths run im less forgiving than most but pleased you lot copped it lovely winner.

Same again next week lads :) These markets in the racing league are absolutely mental literally turn upside down and the back again.

Amd no Ian I didn't have the exacta but it was the first thing I thought when I saw the result is that we had it between us.
