What are you backing Today? Part 2

I’ve had a little on Alexei in the 3.17 at Chepstow. Might be heart over head but I flagged this horse up last season when he won a charity race under Tom Malone by a country mile. Tom Malone bought him from Germany off the flat and was never going to pick something other than a certainty to win that race. Anyway he then won twice at Tau ton and I thought he’d progress but he didn’t seem to handle the cut next time and pulled too hard on his next start so they put him away. They’ve dropped him back in trip here too and the ground should be more to his liking.

I see Tom Malone sponsors the race before so that might be a hint in itself as he will be there supporting Brocade Racing. Anyway just one of my musing hunches....

To quote an esteemed forumite........oh the pain!

Very unlucky Jinny

I backed him ew when I should really have done a forecast. Not only that I’ve been having a nice boozy Sunday lunch so missed watching it....need to find a replay! But sounds like he ran ok?

Just seen the replay. Think he will come on plenty for that especially as it’s his first time in a handicap. Still a little keen early and jumping needs to improve a bit, but he’s got ability for sure. This ground I think is key though. Also the winner got a run on him and put distance between him (thought the jockey sat a little bit too long?) and he was going to struggle to pull that back so he did well. One to keep an eye on....😉

Newbie here.. today looks like the day for Derry Lad 2:35 Punch. Must be one of the best handicapped horses in Ireland. I thought the last day would be the perfect opportunity to win but looks like they are pulling the trigger today.

Tracker running at Lingfield this afternoon (3.30). Sea Suite was worn down by Man of la Mancha (who has since franked the form) a couple of starts back at Sandown over a mile before running below form (not a surprise) when stepped down in trip at Ascot next time. I wanted him over further not shorter silly trainer....now he tackles 9f and has form on the AW (is actually rated higher) and I've done him at 8/1 for four places.

Sure Touch - Market Rasen 3.51

This could run really well here and the current 5/1 looks a fierce price but....

He ran a lovely race at Aintree last November and it could be that they're aiming at at that again and off his much lower mark, he would feature.

However, his current mark would see him way down the bottom at Aintree and he may need to frame or win today to make sure he gets in. In which case today's odds are too tempting to pass over.

Thinks its 1m and 1 yard Euro ?

Nice one
Well spotted👍🏻

Nice touch by Craig Lidster earlier going straight over to congratulate the winning owner of SELECTION on being successful in the 7:30 race at Newcastle.
Craig used to train the winner but was ousted by the landlord from his York stables and replaced by Ivan Furtado who now trains the horse.
