QIPCO British Champions Day

WTAF?????
You could not have that horse in a month of Sundays! He looked shite in the paddock. He's had two wind ops and was beaten easily both his starts since winning the Mill Reef. Plus his form was on soft. Even Spencer is shocked!

2.05: Lazzat ran a few pounds below par at Deauville and, though backed as if defeat was impossible, was possibly undone by the draw at Haydock Park. But if he returns to his course and distance Royal Ascot form all the media aftertimers will be asking how he could ever have been 4/1 and better after he makes short work of this shower.
Sometimes you just have to laugh in this game.

Lazzat again predictably smashed (as at Haydock Park) from 9/2 overnight and beats everything bar....THAT.

Fair play to Jamie Spencer - he's comfortably at his least awful in races run at a million miles an hour on a stiff straight course.

I guess on his Mill Reef form he has the ability. But clearly had wind issues and anyone who did back him was totally betting blind in hope. Sure Spencer is a past master on this course (although he's let me down multiple times this year so he's off my Christmas card list) and he gets them to relax so anything with a wind problem (two ops suggests its been a real one) will benefit.

Never let the truth get in the way of a 'Slim' post.

Nice win, nice ride and filly was super relaxed unlike several others. Happy enough with my ew on Quisiana too.

2.45: Kalpana has done a passable impression of a bridle ponce at times, but I'm not sure anything here can get her off the bit and 3/1 isn't unfair about last year's winner and this year's King George runner up, who didn't run too badly in the Arc.
Still wouldn't want her in a battle, but she was far too good for that lot.

There was Group 1s and there are Group
1s - and that was several levels below an Arc.

Now, is the Calandagan King George form real or is he the bridle ponse we saw at Epsom?

I'm a max layer at 3.2
FWIW I think Calandagan and Kalpana are two bridle ponces together - but nothing could get Kalpana "at it" just now, whereas I suspect Calandagan will have to fight.

It wouldn't be a Saturday afternoon without me aftertiming I've got a small Kalpana/Calandagan related-contingency form double going, but it's only a saver - I really want Delacroix for that cracking ante-post bet you steered me towards and obviously I'm gutlessly with Ombudsman too.

Anything else wins and I'm sulking until the Balmoral.
