What are you backing Today? Part 2

A shame Wendigo couldn’t quite land the odds. Gavin Sheehan said post-race (I have a share via Racing Club so get to see immediate post-race comments) that he should have won and that’s the way it looked to me with Sean Bowen scrubbing away on the winner from 4 out I thought Gav had written him off and only realised he was a threat when he’d already eased off and it was too late to get Wendigo going again
Think Sheehan like so many others have been was outridden by Bowen. He's so so good.

On holiday in Sorrento and the first gift shop my wife drags me into doubles up as a bookies - at least she will know where to find me!!!

Today's faint fancy is:

Primo Lara - 8.30 Southwell. 11/1 Ew

I've noted this one at Goodwood off 87 and remarked that:

A promising run, this. I thought he was travelling best 2f out and he didn’t quite have the pace in the final furlong. Definitely staying on, mind and it looked like further might do although I wouldn’t be adamant. Doesn’t mind soft ground; won on it.

So here we are at Southwell over 1m 3f. I suppose he has to be done but question marks over distance and surface. I took 11/1 this morning Ew but, of course, a NR means a whopping 15p R4. So, even if you get the winner, they've got you by the knackers - again. Anyway, the pieces are on for the first time which might suggest they'll be on the go today.

I get your thinking on this. I thought he was an eyecatcher at Goodwood. I'm not sure what happened since then though.

I backed Sir Galahad last time at Market Rasen when he raced with the choke out all the way and unsurprisingly didn’t quite get home having led over the last. If settling better today with the cheek pieces that worked well for him on the Flat then the 9/1 (boosted to 19/2) that I burgled with Lads yesterday looks good value and I wouldn’t put anyone off at the current 13/2

Great pick, mister!

I thought I'd add some losers, just to balance things out.

Miller Spirit - 2.51 Newbury
Mateta - 3.35 Cheltenham
The Newest One - 4.45 Cheltenham

Win trixie

Ew Single on The Newest One

Haha!

Millers Spirit beaten on the nod and then, just to rub salt into the wound, he's disqualified for weighing in 15Lbs light!
15Lbs?! That can't be right, surely.

A couple for me that I've had my beady on:

Galeron - 3.50 Donc Ew 9/1
Whistle Stop Tour - Kelso Ew 5/1
2 x Ew Singles

Ew Double

Then, because it looks like good sport, I'll have a little Ew L15 on:

Zurich - Chelt 1.10 12/1
Diamond Dealer Kelso 2.10 9/4
Transmission - Chelt 2.20 15/2
Welcome to Cartries - Chelt 4.05 9/2

As I say: good sport and great to see the jumps holding the main stage. :)
