The Official Constitution Hill Thread 2025/26

Constitution Hill's third fall, The New Lion tried to run out and ended up on the deck too and tbh Anzadam looked none too keen to me in a fight.

At least the mare jumps and battles - seems that's all you need at the moment.

For all that you won’t get much jammier than Golden Ace’s win in the Champion Hurdle, when you adjust her rating for the 7lbs mares’ allowance, she’s joint-second top, is fit and should not be more than eight times the price of Anzadam or 14 times the price of The New Lion. Nemean Lion will probably be ridden to hopefully pick up something better than fifth place prize money.

Calm down Jinny.:cheerleader:
I actually didn't have a bet but I am so happy for Jezza. She is a diamond of a mare for a little yard up on Exmoor and the girl that looks after her, Emily is such a sweetie.

On another note, discussion here is about the actual hurdles. Are these plastic filled hurdles with a bright white bar along the top making some horses find it difficult to judge? They seem to make exactly the same mistakes. I know they did all this research at Exeter (?) uni but I am starting to wonder.

Constitution Hill needs to be retired and become a Show horse - he is stunning so it should be an option.

Does it confuse horses that different tracks seem to have different hurdles? I believe that all tracks are going to switch to the ones they have at Kelso but I lose track of which ones they are. I’m sure they used to be orange and now they’re white.

They are all white now including I notice in Ireland. They used to be orange but the research showed that white was more visible for horses than orange so they all got changed. Plus hurdles are now filled with plastic rather than birch and I wonder if they are less forgiving too.

Probably safe for the longer distances were they go somewhat slower.

A Champion Hurdler that brushes through the birch compared to plastic needs looking at. Would make 0 difference for Con Hill.

Convinced even a great like Hurricane Fly would be arse over tit with these

Odds on to be at Kempton Park Boxing Day for the Christmas Hurdle imo.

Shouldn't be there, arguably, but think he will be.

Their problem is he's fallen three times now in four outings since March.

If he fell again and was killed it would be a horrible, horrible, look, especially for a horse like that who owes them nothing.

They might run him on the Flat, but all of this Gold Cup talk - I couldn't have him staying 2m4f on the Flat in a horsebox.

If he'd run this year, Trawlerman would have had him beat by Swinley Bottom.
